Since the CF is going to eventually probably buy these again. I wanted to celebrate by making a Chinook thread.

nicely done! and you managed to make this thread without a single picture of the CH-46 sneaking in there. I can't tell you how many times i've seen the '46 sea knight (phrog) slip into a discussion thread, book, magazine, tv show and be referred to as a '47 chinook. just one of the things that irritates me in life.

I have viewed more than a few news broadcasts that have done the same thing. A right year old with a military book can tell the difference.

Lost by accident or to fire?
One was conducting a landing when it flipped on it's side and burned out. The other crahsed after loosing enginepower in mid-flight. It was carrying a full load of Marines, but fortunately no one was killed. Here's a picture of the remains of the second one;

What country is that one from ^^^^ with the circular symbol on the side. Like on most of the other pics above.
and the picture thats about 16th from the bottom, with 2 chinooks that look like there behind a ship, above the small picture of people absailing. what country is that from??
Most of the pictures are of Dutch Chinooks.
The 2 at the picture behind the ship are British.
