Twice a year, the Knobcreek Machingun Shoot happens, once in the fall and once in the spring. Located between Fort Knox and Louisville, KY, this is the single largest, provately owned, machingun shoot. It is open to the public for all ages.
More inforamtion on times, dates, competitions, prices can be found here: www.machinegunshoot.com
Part of this post is to get some interest in the event so that others may experience it. The other is an invite to camp with our group.
We are looking to add three or four more people to the group. You have to be over the age of 21, easy to get along with and capable of taking a joke. You can either pay us for your food and beverages OR bring your own. Bring a tent. SHhould we have spots open in the GP smalls we bring down, they will be available on a first come first serve basis. We will have the grill, potable and washing water, and plenty of firewood.
US Cavalry usually has a sidewalk sale during the event and we usually take a road trip down the store at some point during the event.
We will be arriving mid to late afternoon on Thursday (April 1) and leaving late Sunday morning (April 4).
I will have pictures of the event back up on my website before the end of the week hopefully. I have been a bit lazy. I'll try to have the videos up as well.
While anyone can attend the event and camp on the grounds, we reserve the right to turn away interested parties from camping with us proper.
For those of you that wish to attend or have questions, please feel free to email me at durandal@fuse.net
Cheers!

The last time I want to Knob Creek was when I saw a guy pull up the 4 50s mounted on the back of his truck. Trust me guys, if you guys ever have a change, you should go because the targets are old trucks, cars, you name it.
It's some great ****.

That would be awesome. Thanks for inviting all of us, or at least inquiring. Mary Catherine will be less than 2 weeks at that point so I have to bow out. But, I have seen videos of some of that and I would love to go. Looks like a real blast!
Thanks, durandal, you are a scholar and a gentleman.

Wish I had money for plane tickets lol.

For those that do wither do not have the time and/or money, they hold the first or second weekend in October as well. Our group does both.
I also have regular Gun Days in Southwest, OH about 4 or 5 times a year. It runs about six hours and everyone brings firearms of their choice, so long as they are not Class III (even if they are legally owned) and are legal in the State of Ohio. Black powder, pistols, SARs, shotguns, skeet, and trap guns, and flare pistols :).
Since this event is on my own property (a nice 300+ acre farm) I tend to be REALLY picky about who I invite. We usually camp out to...loock the guns away, get the beer out and relax.
If anyone is interested in this, please feel free to email me also (or message me through the forum). Like I said, I am picky. No, Nazis, no hate groups, no militias, no kids. Women are especially welcome (hint Farmgirl ;) ) since the few that shoot with us would love to have more ladies along (not to say I don't, quite the contrary). We have a pretty diverse group that shoots with us and we like people that are friendly, open minded, courteous, and safety concious.
But, we have a nice range that we have been very slowly developing over the last two years. This year we should be making some fairly nice improvements on it...again, I'll have pictures up for this in a bit...
Like I said, email me, if you are interested and we can talk...

Nice little 'group activity' around the camp fire? Just couldn't resist ;)
Sometimes living in the US doesn't seem all that bad :)

If you never shoot a weapon, you are not an American

I'll second that opinion.

You might wanna continue this conversation in a by-the-hour hotel room. ;)

I would recommend to anyone who has never been to a machinegun shoot, GO!
I have been going to KCR for the last 3 years, as a Canadian, I love America lol.
The people are friendly, and you can always find a deal around the corner.
Last year I fired the mini gun, 1500 round pull of the trigger, pushed a button really, it sucks that I can't bring mine down, when I tell people what I have they flip, I only found out later that you folks pay a lot of money for a machine gun with all the laws, I own 8 full auto .50's, only paid 2 grand per .50 for example, that's with tri pod, T&E!
Go, you'll be stunned at what goes down range.
