That video was probably taken from at least 5-10K away (3-6ish miles). The OH-58D is a pretty small & relatively quiet aircraft, so at that distance they wouldn't notice it.

We used to hunt for these opportunities (we called them "LZ Bush") when I was flying. Miss the old days.....
