translated it's marine special services unit or special assistance unit or something like that

supposedly they were only for domestic use but they have been deployed overseas lately (on the Balkans for instance) but there's virtually no info on that they are also used as boarding teams abourd ships

Basically there are two units within the Korps Mariniers responsible for hostage situations. The BBE for incidents witin The Netherlands and the 7 Special Boat Service nl (part of the British Special Boat Service) or Amfibisch Verkennings Peloton for situation on sea. Both units operate in cooopration with each other. There is a third group from the Korps Commando Troepen (STT teams, Speciale Technieken en Tactieken teams (Special Techniques and Tactics) These units are responsible for actions abroad. But in the recent past all three units worked close together during operations abroad.

I think this protection is also used by the GIGN so i'm sure its good stuff. Question, the BBE also has P90's. When do operatives use a P90, and when an MP5? Does that depend on the type of mission? Or is it upto the operative's personal choice?

Nope.. the BBE use the P90 to.. the KCT-CT uses them to. I dont know or it is a choiche or not..

Those helmets are waith a special how do you say that.. neck flap of kevlar to protect tour neck. The Dutch AT (= Arrest Team) uses them to!

City is Den Helder for sure. The docks in the back make that clear. They were taken autumn 2005. That's when the new helmets authorised for the BBE.

1981

I think the official term is 7 Troop SBS RNLMC or Amphibisch Verkennings Peloton (in dutch) it's part of UK/NL Landing force or something like that

Hi Chops and Moughoun,

With your contacts within the SF community it must be easy to check that the Amfibisch Verkenningspeleton (7 troop SBS RNLMC) is a part of the SBS. Check C and M-squadron. You will come across a total of five Dutch teams.

Only in the case of the Russians rolling through Norway mate! They are not 'part of' UK SBS.
