During WWII germans couldn`t capture any of our banners. They captured a small flag used by trumpeter and told that it is a banner! They showed it to Hitler and this ****ed asshole believed them! During the battle of Bzura (1939) germans were almost captured one of our banners, but when our soldiers noticed that they became evils and charged the enemy forcing him to flee in panic! :D Unfortunatelly during occupation germans manage to find few of our hidden banners.

Yep few banners were captured during occupation, but none was captured during combat or on battlefield.
AFAIR this trumpet flag was displayed in berlin museum and in 1943 or 44 it was stolen by polish workers who were forced to clar the rubble in berlin, they also extracted some other stuff connected to marshal of poland :-)
My father in 1960 discovered a cheast in which there were hidden all documents(list of soldiers, calauties, reports, orders) some money(small sum) and banner of 4th Legion Infantry regiment (4-ty Pułk Piechoty Legionów) It was hidden in the Kazuń near Modlin before capitulation in september 1939 - everything was hided in wooden chest and this wooden was inside 2nd one made of metal and larger. My father was army Lt. in Polish Army at this time and everything found in this chest was passed to military archives.
