Some people are just so stupid. They probably weren't in all that much trouble..... then they add resisting arrest, assault, etc to their charges. For that alone they deserved one in the knee cap.

We had a guy at the jail years ago that was in for rape. He proclaimed his innocence but was always acting stupid by fighting guards, breaking things, kicking the door and windows, spitting etc....
Anyway, he was judged innocent of rape (the lady lied and admitted to it) but he was still given a 12 year term for pretty much being an idiot.
That cop was a big boy...the way he tossed those to dopes to the ground

Oh no. I'm completely serious. That or they should snip the skin between their nostrils with rusty scissors just for being stupid.

I say shoot to cause an excrutiating amount of pain as long as they don't have a gun to shoot back at you with.
Huh?
I crack me up.

Both the subjects and the officer were lucky. That could have become uglier very quickly.
For those not in the know: as a cop I was always taught that you can't fight more than one mope at a time. If you have multiple adversaries and are alone going hands on, shoot one and deal with the other. It doesn't matter if they don't have weapons or not; with two on one it becomes a deadly force encounter.

Why do US cops pull guns so often....I have never seen a cop pull a gun....my father was a copper and never pulled it from his holster and my bestfriends dad has pulled it once in 11 years....
explain.....

I don't think on the average that they do. We live in a society where lawbreakers have been taught to turn into cry babies and play the victim when caught to pander to our media who in turn sensationalizes everything to turn a profit from greedy advertisers and Monday Morning Quarterbacks that like to critisize the world from the comfort of the sidelines while conveniently armed with hindsight in an effort to inject their boring lives with some drama.

The answer depends on who you ask. When I first came on the job, I was told you will probably hardly ever have to draw. That was told to me by guys that, at that time had been policing for nearly 20 years or more. A lot has changed since then. I found that as a street cop, there was barely a day I didn't unholster my sidearm or pull the scattergun out of the rack between building searches, felony car stops, warrant arrests, etc. If you are doing something high risk, you have your stuff out ready to go.
Nowadays, as a plainclothes kind of Fed type, I hardly ever unholster, unless doing a search, arrest or takedown of some sort. A lot also depends on where you work and the type of work you're doing.
On the other hand, there are a good number of LEOs out there that pull their stuff when they don't need to: they issue a bad guy a command and if they don't comply they go to the gun. A lot of times this is because they are uncomfortable with their own hands-on skills or think the bad guy will obey if you point your wpn at him. That hardly ever works, though.
In the case of this video, at the time the OFC draws his wpn, it is correct. A bad guy produces what could become a weapon and he is alone and at the moment without cover.
