Damn pics don't all work?

The independence war was fought with very few modern or good weapons. The IDF would ride one truck with lights on up a mountain and down a gain with lites out and so on to make it look like a whole tank squad was up there, many wooden tanks were built to trick. They would play soundstracks of engine noises in the night. Machines that made loud rattling noise like a machinegun scared allot of enemy away. There were so few men to defend that one man would guard a hill. It's undelevable how this independence war was won!

Gotta remember the War for Independence took place in 1948. The hardware of the time was mostly surplus British gear that was left behind when England gave up Palestine.

If I could ever find a way to move it to DVD, I'd up a copy of the 3 part series "Behind the Hatred" which gave an excellent insight into the Israeli-Arab situation from the war of independence to shortly before Arafat's death.

A militia attacks military targets and infrastructure while a terrorist organization targets civilians.

Up untill 1917 what is today Israel was a part of the Ottoman empire, then untill 1948 it was under British rule.

Though I do agree that the war was Israel's war of survival rather than a war of independence.

You don't have to be a "colony" to fight for Independence. When England left Palestine, Israeli's fought for the right to exist in a land that was completely hostile to their people. To them, it was a war of Independence.
