Ok looking for some advice here. Do the issue hip pads (http://www.army-surplus.co.uk/Merchant2/4.13/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=1&Product_Code=LBV29&Category_Code=ACC) work ok?

I haven't been issued one yet and was thinking of splashing out on the SASS version ("Aussie Belt Support (http://www.sasskit.co.uk/products/militarywebbing/sassbeltsupport.htm)"). It says on the website to ask the Aussies how good they are ...... any Diggers out there care to comment?

...... or should I just wait for the issue version?

i bought one from hm supplies that was pretty good and it was a copy of the aussie one it was a bit big as im a skinny ****er so i put it on my webbing, drew round it like a stencil then got a cobbler to stitch round that and cut off the excess.
we had an aussie bloke attached to us and he had 2 of there issue ones sewn together.he said that was what they do over there.

Never bothered with my belt rig (though I have used cut down roll mat over the years).

I find that I'm going back to a chest rig more and more nowadays, but if it's issued try it...

Is it the PLCE issue or the SASS one?

I normally use the issue ops vest however I'm off on a course that insists on everyone using beltkit. I'll speak to the storeman and see if he can get me one .......... although I think it'll be a case of "fast moving bacon, left to right" :).
