I know why the Bundeswehr won.

We cheated. The French used Miles/Agdus of some sort like this:
http://www.deutschesheer.de/relaunch/Contentbase2.nsf/a2359e1209b11a18c1256982003b7e87/fa52941ec062642cc1256e3f002bb024/body/0.9A4?OpenElement&FieldElemFormat=jpg

The germans didn't:
http://www.deutschesheer.de/relaunch/Contentbase2.nsf/a2359e1209b11a18c1256982003b7e87/1749a406d345f71bc1256e3f002c8b39/body/3.3C52?OpenElement&FieldElemFormat=jpg
And they fielded the only true machinegun (as u can c), with live ammo. p-)

Isn't that stupid? I mean, I learned "train as you fight - fight as you train". So wouldn't it be smarter to train in mixed groups as it would be in real scenarios?

Touché! I must admit, Général Bonaparte looks much more impressive than the austian postcard painter.

Yeah, you're right!

The problem is that the article isn't very precicise:-(

The problem: one(or more) german exchange officer was/were under french command and as I hopefuly read this article right ( after a lot of beers:-)) the teams changed. But most of the time french were ...... ;) Hope so ;)

Alll right to get clearer: The article was really confused. Last thought to get along: german-french exercise: they fought/fired/had fun and thought to do enough for real combat  :( ;) :|

In 1998, we mixed a french tank unit with our armored infantry unit, divided it into two task forces and "fought" against each other.

Was very nice to see them... :D
