haha, unless you are actually interested, it gets real old real fast. The first one is kind of fun though.

The only service that sent me mail was the Navy. For the most part, I got phone calls. First from the Marine Corps, then the Navy, then the Army. Still waiting on one from the Air Force.

I remember my first experience with the marines.. the recruiter showed up at my door with an MP (well he had a big armband that said MP on it). I was kinda freaked out only being 16 and knowing NOTHING about the military, but all he wanted was to take me out to lunch and talk about me joining up, the other guy was just along for the ride to the recruitment station.

If they took you to lunch, they would pay correct?

Could you scan it? Or type out the text? I've never gotten one; heck, I've never even seen one. I was living overseas when I reached "legal" age and I joined up less than 2 years after my return. I'm still in the Army, but I just remembered something I've always been meaning to do: Sign up for "free information" from the GoArmy.com website so I can get the free hat or t-shirt or whatever it is they're giving out now.

I should try the Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard, too. Hmm.

Well, for testing actually. :)

But if my memory isn't blurred I'd say there were som notes about the police coming to get you should you fail to show up. Aaah, democracy. p-)

Well, I signed up for it, but unfortunately only the Army seems to be giving out freebies via the internet, and right now it's a tri-color desert boonie hat. I wonder if the Army recruiter they give my address to is going to even attempt to visit my Army barracks.

I might have to visit a job fair or recruiting office in person to get the other services' free stuff.
