i am starting to collect and customize figures again, but i am getting rid of all my WWII stuff (mostly 21st century toys stuff) and moving to modern stuff. i got rid of alot of older stuff at a small figure show/swap type thing at a store about a half hour away. it got me into figures again, and i bought a BBI marine.(trying to get the pictures on the computer from the digital camera). anyway, i wanted to know what figures you collect. dragon? BBI? etc......
i dont collect them but i dont wanna call em gay cuz they look cool :(

Well I just got "Trident " from BBi and the detail on these figs is bloody incredible.
I then got the new type protec and some more STRIKE Gear and the detail again is superb, tiny little QR straps, amazing **** guys.
I want BBi Gunslinger next, and then the Hot toys USAF PJ!!
hell I'm almost 42 and I don't give a toss what anyone else thinks about these figs, seeing is believing lads!! ;)
I used to think they were just GI Joes for kids, but there's some serious collectors out there

yeah there are some crazy collectors out there. some guys were trying to sell vehicles that they made themselves, they were really good. i think right now i am just going to collect and customize some marines from iraq. i am going to aquire some mopp gear and a desert marpat, or regular desert helmet (and many more pieces of gear), and make a marine like the ones in this picture for example.

Hey howdy hey!
1/6th figures are a great hobby. My Pastor and I are good friends and we work on projects together. He has almost 300 figs now and a mess of vheicles. My collections is alot smaller...so far lol. BBI has incredible detail and when I can find them on sale that is what I order. There are several places that carry loos parts. Trident looks to be an awesome figure. Give us a review when you have time AngryII.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^this is a buttpack i made (still needs some work but i am proud of it). i made it out of a WWII german bread bag, that i modfied with some straps from some german WWII canteens and some stechy straps from a cheap modern H harness, and some superglue. it goes on the iraq marine, but i put it on this guy just to see how it looked.

Cool figs! Both of you guys!
About what I collect, most of my stuff is regrettbly (SP?) Ultimate Soldier. Ultimate Soldier stuff is pretty undetailed but I definatly use it a lot, especially the weapons and figures. For gear I use BBI gear almost exclusivly, for the price the detail is absolutly unmatched.
I use Ultiamte soldier bodies because they pose well and they proportioned correctly. BBI bodies, at least in my eyes, are too articulated. They pose very oddly sometimes, they're kinda hard to work with, Also they don't seem properly proportioned, thier necks are HUGE!
BBI headsculpts are VERY good though. Their hands fall off alot also, beccuse of the way they attach them
Good to hear your getting back into 1/6th! woot Good luck!

About Dragon models, I personnaly don't think they are worth the price.
-The gear isn't very realistic, they don't carry proper loadouts alot, a lot of gear that should be fabric isnt, it's plastic.
-Headscuplts are kinda shiney
-bodies are fragile
I'm sure there are exceptions, but i'd rather get a BBI figure for 10 bucks less and get way better quality.

I've got some news of those 6 inch figures I collect, and they're releasing a ****load! They've come up with a new body with 30 points of articulation, slings, and loads more gear. The figure is a prototype, and is 12inches though will be reduced to 6 inches and will be used for the new modern and WW2 line.

They are also working on Call of Duty figures. There are loads of pics of the toy fair that they showed them here

the weapons are a little fragile, but not that much, they only seem it when you compare them to the really sturdy (sometimes metal) bbi weapons. which reminds me, i will post some pictures once i take them of my m16a2 (bbi metal), sr16(dragon), and m4(bbi platic) that i "weathered" and touched up with silver and black paint, they really look like they have been used and scratched up a bit. it looks really good, or so i think.

No, I'm not a Wargamer but many people use 1/72 Figs for Wargaming. I personally think they are to fragile for WG but on the other site they are much cheaper than tin figures.

Yeah, it was because of the 1/72 scale I was asking if they were for gaming purposes. Me, I'm doing 1/35 scale. Although your figs are great I personally think that 1/72 is a little bit "on the small side"...
