Some snapshots taken by a work chum (his name is Otto Dietrich on the outside chance any old navy vets from the Bonnie are reading) during his days on HMCS Bonneventure in '67 and '68. A/C are Grumman Trackers. The other carrier seen in one of the pics is HMS Eagle, at the Firth of Forth.

You know, this is sad but, I never knew we had any carriers. I'll have to read more about them.
I guess it'll be a long time before we get any more.
Thanks for the post!

DUDE!
Those are incredible shots, yeah we had two the Bonaventure and the Magnificent, the Bonnie was the last and scraped in the 60's ( rumors have it that some other country actually put it into service under thier name and flag ), but its a incredible ship.
Thanks man for posting this, my father can still remember driving over the Macdonald bridge as a child and seeing that ship docked at CFB Halifax, again man I am very suprised to see this thread about something that hits so close to home.
Cheers
