looks like it wont have nearly as much firepower as the original FAVs used in Gulf 1, with the 3 seats - 2 Mgs.
This doesnt look to have the side cargo hold spaces either.... mabye more pics will surface sometime soon :)

Shine off the windscreen, bad. Low ground clearance, bad. Approach and departure angles, good. 50 cal, good, ability for front pasangers to fire, bad. No light covers to stop accidents at night, bad.
Doesn't look ideal. Could be a lot of fun though :P .
Looks like the bike hasn't got platforms on the front and back like other dz bikes I have seen.

It's a Black Iris FAV. Jordanian-made.

I don't know who uses them in Afghanistan, though. Are the Jordanians there? It probably belongs to an ISAF unit, maybe the Turks.
hmm interesting. I guess maybe its better than the chenworths. The SAS and Delta gave them a go in Iraq but found them failures..This thing looks like **** though. I guess only benefit is it light so is transportable and maybe wont set off some AT mines. But look, no armor, little armament. **** , I wouldnt want to be in one in a **** fight or going through ambush territory. I'd like one to go get my tea this mornign though!!!!!

It looks experimental to me. Really it seems under armed. I wander what type of engine it has?

If I remember correctly its called the "Black Iris". It was developed for the Royal Jordian Special Forces Command a few years back. They deployed a few of them on operations in Sierra leon.

Jordanian forces are in Afghanistan as part of Enduring Freedom, not ISAF. There is a Jordanian field hospital in Mazar-e Sharif.

put a 308 engine in it, give it a 12" suspension lift, slam 40" Super Swamper tyres under it and give it Rock Hopper diffs..... then it will be gucci woot

OBD is right. These vehicles seem hopelessly vulnerable to enemy ambush with little armament and no armour.

These are not patrol vehicles, they're not designed for convoy escort or to be a platform to fight from (even a light one, such as some suped up Landrover or a HMMWV). These are scout vehicles, and if your in one, your mission probably says that your to be avoiding enemy contact of any kind...or you're the one who's going to be doing the ambushing. Unless its a patrol vehicle or a serious arm of an SF attack force I don't see any problem with its armament and armor, as long as, its mobility is up to snuff.
