The Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR)

the MoD should have shortened it to SpeRR, much better than SRR which sounds like a model designation for a car :)

The Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR)

Just as long as it doesn't do things the way FRU did....

I thought FRU got rolled up, along with a few other units, into the SRR.

Hmm, tricky one. Belfast accents and donkey jackets are out of the question when operating undercover in Iraq.

According to what I've researched the FRU is still active, though under a different name.

Interestingly enough, Brigadier Gordon Kerr, then OC of FRU, is currently directing SRR Ops in Iraq

Not necessarily, it depends on what the guy or girls cover story is.

I can safely say that 80% of that link is pump. What the 20% is for you to find out. If you can hack it.

You thought wrong.

Royal, it's not the first time I've been wrong and I'm sure I'll be wrong inthe future. You and a couple of other guys here have been pretty helpful clearing up some things for me in the past, and hopefully you'll keep doing it in the future.

Why was the Everton manager handling agents? p-)

No worries - that was a bit short.

I hope you understand that for obvious reasons that's as far as I'm commenting.

It's not a problem, I understand perfectly.

So this new JSFSG (Joint Special Forces Support Group). that is formed by the
Parachute Regiment's 1st battalion.
A company of marine commandos.
And experts from the air force, including forward air-controllers.

What do I call it?, a new unit?, a new regiment, a task force?
Will the three parts be located in the same place?
How meny are the SRR?

So it will be the:
JSFSG (supporting the)
SRR
SBS
SAS

That would not be public knowledge.

JSFSG is just that. Joint Special Forces Support Group. Encompassing 1PARA, a Royal Marine "Strike" Company (I heard it referred to as that) and Tactical Air Control Parties you could say it's probably slightly larger than a Battalion.
