for a bunch of you noobs since the flood gates were opened, you didnt get to experience the choas that was once mp.net. for the old time members we have fond memories of the old mp.net and the sometime anarchial ways that it had when there was one or two mods per topic. my fondest memory came sometime in late 2004 there was the night of the bannings

i cant remember the night but somewhere around 25 threds were created in a 2 hour period requesting someone be banned. it was led off by B.o.s.k andjack mehoff, but soon was swamped by other members in an all out festival. i think thats the night i got hooked on the sight

i myself have caused too much trouble in my early days and had to change my name to get away from the negative energy i created for myself. i think the total when i chaged my name was 5000 post in a little under 6 months.....yeah that bad

Craziest day on MP.net?

I guess this...

Finnish military abuse

On March 7 2005, a topic (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=40545) in the MilitaryPhotos.net "Off Topic and Humor" forum, titled "WTF is wrong with Finnish army ?" displayed photographs of Finnish conscripts being ******ly humiliated by other conscripts. Reminiscent of the Abu Ghraib (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Ghraib) scandal, the photos show near naked soldiers on leashes, in ****** positions, and other awkward poses. The Finnish tabloid "Ilta Sanomat" first picked up the story and had a two page exclusive. The next day, a Finnish newspaper picked up the story and had a one page article describing the photos. However, by the time the Finnish newspaper reported the story, the photos were taken down, and the newspaper used a photo of Belgian military abuse.
The incidents are being investigated by the Finnish military. The Finnish Newspaper "HBL" dismisses the photos as "soldier humor".

I found it in November on

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Militaryphotos.net

by luck...and I joined!!!

It finally led to Hardthunder being banned and SPC2 having something in his avatar about how Hardthunder owed him an apology. Don't remember what happended to SPC2.......Ahh good times......
