for those of you who are wondering, that pic if os the MG43, made by HK. the weapon functions around a lot of the same design features of the G36 family. it is 5.56mm, belt fed...in this pic, the weapon was being tested at the proving grounds at Yuma Arizona. fired 102,000 rounds out in the desert.

short off-topic question:
What are you thinking about the german desert flecktarn camo, is it better than the 3-color desert and usmc marpat camo?

Personally I think the German Desert Flecktarns are the best camo for the purpose. I think they have multiple schemes.

As for woodland colors, the USMC marpat camo is the coolest and I believe - most effective. It has USMC printed on the fabric at computer generated intervals - If you look really close.

The Germans were the first to employ computer-generated camo. It has shown to be very effective indeed.

No, because wüstentarn is just desert-camo but not the german desert camo, this is called "tropentarn"... ;)

Is wuestentarn the official name, the Germans on post refer to it as Flecktarn. Or maybe that's just because I'm a stupid American.

Desert marpat and cadpat are the best! Plus the german camo has way to much dark colors, and its a positve camo, desert marpat/cadpat are negative. positive camo is beter for hunting and negative is best for war!
