First of all. The EU hasn't gone into any heavy duty combat. Mostly just humanitarian missions. There isn't anything wrong humanitarian, you're helping the helpless for crying out loud. But because I mentioned humanitarian, it eliminates the idea that you're put into service to kill everything in sight. Yes, you're trained to handle deadly weapons with deadly force but so are Policemen, you use it when the time is nessassary, the military isn't a huge FPS you know.

And what immature training. Many adults I know who went through the military are very mature. Yeah, there are a few wild ones. But there are wild people eveywhere... even in prestigious colleges like the one you claim to go to.

So shut it, sign the papers, and go on with your life. I don't think you're going to be deployed anywhere anyway.

I don't know what your definition of 'heavy duty' is, but would Congo fit? Operation Artemis was EU-led, but I'm pretty sure they got some help from NATO.

Your first post made perfect sense to me; a guy with great opportunities in front of him wonders why he enlisted the EU Battlegroup when he could have done any number of a million other, better things.

It's that last post that puzzles me: You've already done time in the military, and so you know what it's like, so why would you come back in again? I guess in a way, this does bring it back to that first post, and the question so many have asked: Dude, WTF?
