Just because you are a part of the 82nd Airborne Division, does not necessarily mean that you are an 11B Infantry Man. A division is a huge unit, with many different support elements organic to its organization. Which means shes part of one of those, but still an All American.

She's not "posing" with them, she's a part of the unit, and the camera isn't focused on her. If it was, she would be dead center in the photo. It's a candid shot of a group of people, it's not focused on anyone. My father's a profesional photographer, and I've been working with him for about 4-5 years now, if that photo was ment to focus on her, then the photographer who took it is doing a bad job.

Also, as mentioned before, she isn't nessicerly infantry, she's probably support staff. Although really there's no logical reason why she shouldn't be allowed to be in the infantry....

If that's what your dad's been teaching you, he doesn't know the principles of photography. The rule of thumb of photography is that you never put a single subject in the center unless that's the effect that you're looking for. It's actually called the rule of thirds because there's basically 3 rows and 3 columns in every photo, and you want to keep a singular subject towards the outside thirds.

That's basic photography right there, bro. I've learned the exact same rule in both a media class I took last year and a photography class I took this year. The same rule applies to videograpy as well.
