The first picture is one of our aircraft involved in a bird strike.
Actually it was geese. Two geese entered directly into the center of the nose cone. The in-rush of air tried to inflate the dome or push it off the aircraft. The result was the goose parts were pushed out through the opening.
The aircraft is a C141 and it hit the birds during a local flight.
The others are just random pictures.....I never thought that a bird could do that much damage !

How did this bird on first pic make that? I see there no hole, and the feathers comes from inside of radar-shield ;)

If you look at the pic really well, you can actually see that there is a hole .......I think it was just from the speed of how fast the plane was going and how it impacted the bird.......

Wtf....read the Incidents section of that page.
Incidents
The FAA estimates the problem cost US aviation 600 million dollar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_dollar) annually and has resulted in 195 worldwide deaths since 1988. Estimating that 80% of bird strikes are unreported, there were 4,300 bird strikes listed by the USAF and 5,900 by US civil aircraft in 2003. I have huge balls.
Is this a joke?

Result of a bird strike--Aktion AB, Greece, 1996.http://www.anft.net/f-14/photo-e3-02l.jpg
----------------------
The USAF lost one in Elmendorf AFB, AK, on 9/22/95. An Air Force investigating officer from Headquarters Pacific Air Forces determined the crash resulted from the aircraft's two left-wing engines ingesting several Canada geese. According to accident investigator, engine number two lost all power and engine number one experienced severe damage after ingesting the geese shortly after takeoff. The resulting loss of thrust rendered the Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft uncontrollable. After a slow, left climbing turn, the aircraft pitched downward and crashed. Human error on the part of the crew was not a factor
The fatal flight of Yukla 27
What the Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard program hopes to accomplish at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, is eliminating dialogue such as the sobering last words of crew members on flight Yukla 27. A grim 40 seconds, the following was transcribed from the cockpit voice recorder recovered from the crash site:
0746:31, flight engineer: "Lotta birds here."
0746:33, aircraft commander: "..., we took one!"
0746:36, copilot: "What do I got?"
0746:37, flight engineer: "We took two of 'em."
0746:37, aircraft commander: "We got two motors."
0746:37, flight engineer: "Flight start."
0746:38, copilot: "Roger that."
0746:40, aircraft commander: "Take me to override."
0746:41, copilot: "Go to override."
0746:43, copilot: "Elmendorf tower, Yukla 27 Heavy has an emergency. Lost, ah, number two engine. We've taken some birds."
0746:44, seat five occupant: "You're in override. There's the rudder."
0746:46, flight engineer: "Got it."
0746:47, seat five occupant: "You're in override."
0746:48, aircraft commander: "Thank you."
0746:49, flight engineer: "Start dumping fuel."
0746:51, aircraft commander: "Start dumping."
0746:52, tower: "Yukla 27 Heavy, roger. Say intentions."
0746:56, copilot: "Yukla 27 Heavy's coming back around for an emergency return."
0746:58, copilot: "Lower the nose, lower the nose, lower the nose!"
0747:00, aircraft commander: "Goin' down!"
0747:02, copilot: "Oh my God!"
0747:02, aircraft commander: "Oh ...!"
0747:04, copilot: "OK, give it all you got, give it all you got!"
0747:11, copilot: "Crash (landing)!"
0747:11, aircraft commander: "We're going in! We're going down!" ...

Seagulls caused the NATO E-3 crash while on takeoff roll. They tried to stop, but ran out of runway. The FE got hurt, but everyone survived. AC was a total write-off as you can see.

oh thank god, it listed all the crewmembers as if they were killed.
The Nato E-3 all survived (the pics).
YUKLA 27 all dead. (the transcript).
Posting both near each other probably was confusing.

(2) What the Board did:
Four Officers Disciplined in
Aftermath of AWACS Crash
ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska (AFNS)--Four 3rd Wing officers were disciplined for their lack of leadership before the fatal crash of an E-3B Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft last year.
Lt. Gen. Lawrence E. Boese, 11th Air Force commander, completed the administrative actions April 11 against Col. Wayne Heskew and three other wing officers.
The officers were disciplined for failing to provide leadership to reduce bird hazards at the base airfield before the Sept. 22 crash in which 24 people, including two Canadians, were killed.

In my freshman year of college, before I switched to Air Traffic Management, I was in flight training. One day as I was doing the walk around my instructor was in the cockpit looking over the plane's "gripe" sheet. He leaned out and told me to double check the leading edges of the wings. I asked why and he told me because this particular aircraft had taken 3 bird strikes in the last 2 weeks.

f*cking birds.... EAT THEM ALL!!!
If you want to chow down on Canadian geese then you had better hope that the majority of them are from the wild and not city birds. City geese are nasty.

Join FTA, Fukc The Animals :-)
It would be ****ty to die in a collide with a geese.. But I think that the geese would think the same about to collide with something like C-130... or any aircraft. :-(
