Wow, you gotta give those Iraqi's a lot of credit, same with the US. Everything seems to be improving a lot over there, the Army is adopting western traditions, uniforms, and tactics. Excellent! I'm happy for those guys... :D

Can anyone tell me what that shoulder patch is for? For those who don't know, it's french, "Always ready" is the translation, but I'm a bit confused to see a fleur-de-lis and french on a US soldier. Apologies if this is a stupid question, I've never seen that before!

Some of you guys seem to think "oh wow, they get four days of training
by coalition soldiers and now they are all badass". Keep in mind that these
guys probably were conscripts for several years in the Iraqi army, many of
them are probably former officers as well. All they learn during those days
in training is just how the americans do not want them to do things, rather than
how the americans want them to do things.
