What are the urban centre's that are heavely populated by Russians in Germany? And if some of you know, howmany Russians live in the following cities: Köln, Kleve and Düsseldorf.

Well, Berlin definitively.

Yes I know some russophone people from Berlin and South-Germany and Russians are numerous there. I was more interested in the area near the border with Holland. :)

Try Cloppenburg. I heard something about ca. 40% Russian-Germans there.

(I have lived in that area for a pretty long time)

Berlin. You can live there without speaking German. You have Russian shops and companies for everything.

No not like 1945. It is more like the Golden Twenties. Back then Berlin was one of the biggest Russian cities.

We got around 8.000 Russians in my city (Würzburg). That's quite a lot, cause we only got 130.000 inhabitants. But please, do me a favor: don't move here ;-)

According to my sources (;-)) Cologne had 4398 inhabitants from the Russian Federation in 2004.
As far as Düsseldorf is concerned, at the end of 2004, 3557 Russians were living in this city.
For Kleve I can give no numbers, sorry. But the Rhinelandian Intelligence Service (RIS) does not operate there.

Yes they do. At least from my experience.
I've lived together with Russian-Germans or "Russians" as we call them here and I got along with them pretty well.
These guys are a little bit more "rude" than spoiled Europeans/ Westerners but if you know how to take them you can get along with them.

If by rude you mean 'manly' and with spoiled you mean feminine, then I agree with you. p-) I've been told there is also some misbehaving by Russians in Germany. Especially Russians from Kazachstan seem to be coping bad with their new country.

What about Russians and turks, albo's and arabs? Are there any problems between Russians and the mentioned groups in Germany?

Aside from minor shootings and fights over dominance over prostitution markets, none that I would know of.

Yeah, whatever. If you think excessive drinking and rude behaviour is "manly" you are right.
If you think sensibility and self-discipline (German values) is "feminine" you are also right.

Btw, there are a lot of "Russians" who are not very fond of these "Russian values" either.

I think you already know the answer and that's why you ask.
Anyone knows that Turks/ Muslims and Kazachs/ Russians don't get along very well.

Ah, the nordic 'self discipline' as you call it. I guess the Dutch aren't the only ones who are suffering from the inability to stand up for oneself. ;) Just poking at you... although we both have a point.

As long as my "spoiled" western body lasts 15 years longer than that of my "rude" russian friends, you can call me feminine all day long :P

What about Russians and turks, albo's and arabs? Are there any problems between Russians and the mentioned groups in Germany?

In practic you have to befriend some of either Russian(-Germans) or turks. Because whenever you run into trouble with the group you dont have friends in, all it needs is a hint to your friends, a cool beer and an armchair to watch the ensuing Turkish-Russian brawl B)

Every disco is a russian disco over here...

BTW most "Russians" come from Kazakhstan or Kirgizstan because that's where Stalin put them during WW2...

And being a "manly" Russian gets you nowhere, because you don't even get ALG2 (lowest form of social welfare) if you don't speak the language and don't bring someone who does to the employment office, like most of your "manly" Russians...rofl

Of course there are also many people who at least try to make something out of their lives...

i dont think those are russians. and the otheres are no russians neither. they are germans who lived in russia for last ~two generations. they have german names and they will be "pure" germans in no time. its a good think they are around. germany needs german-based people in a time where 14% of inhabitants have absolutely no roots in germany and growing.

Unfourtenately not all of them integrate that easily into our society...:|
Like in Israel Germany allows ethnical Germans to come back into the country, but many of them don't speak the Language and have no knowledge about our culture. All they have is their German blood, but they have a hard time to integrate.

I meant that Germans living in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union may come back to Germany just like Jews from all over the world are welcome to settle in Israel. Of course German jews are part of the deal. I'm sure they'll allow non jews to enter Israel too, but not to stay there permanently.p-)

Most of the time the entire group will feel offended. If I call sharon an asshole, he will be the only one offended. If I call all israeli's assholes, all of them will be pissed. And many more lemmings.
