Im searching high-and-low for pictures of Second World War British/Commonwealth Troops using Captured weapons - especially MP40 series weapons. If anyone can direct me to a resource to locate these pictures, Id really appreciate it!

The Imperial War Museum, www.iwm.org , will have something. You can't access their (absolutely massive) photo collection online I don't think, but you will probably be able to find out how to do some research in the archives, although this may mean going to London, I'm not sure.

Hope it helps.

I have only seen one pic of a British soldier holding an MP-40, he is lying next to a soldier with a Lee Enfield if I remember right, in a street somewhere. Apparently it was preferred to the Sten.

a couple of the osprey books on the british army of ww2 have pics of british troops with german weapons.

in the Elite on the Guards units there is a pic of a guards officer with a Kar98k and in one of the men at arms on the british there is a plate of an officer with a p38 holster. and a sniper in a german cammo smock

The ECPAD in Fort D'Ivry, near Paris, holds a huge collection of pictures, including 10000s of German pictures seized at the end of the war by the French army in Germany. You can google their name, it's a government agency and it's open to civilian research.

Even though it's not Commonwealth, a specific picture springs to my mind; a group of French commandos in Germany using a mix of US (UDM42 SMGs, M1s...) and German weapons (MP40s and MP43s...)
