When I was a civilian instructor for the USN we had a few CG classes for VBSS and the like. They wore (in 2002) solid blue utilities, shirt tucked in, and black tactical vests over low pro armor. I think the vests were made by London Bridge and had flotation panels in them.

NORTHERN ARABIAN GULF (July 30, 2004)--(CENTER) Seaman Mark Sarafin takes his boarding team back to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Adak after they finished boarding an oil tanker here. Although fairly new to the Coast Guard, Sarafin's vital duties as a small-boat coxswain include transport and security of the boarding team. NORTH ARABIAN GULF (May 5, 2004)ÑEns. Adam Burkley, 29, from Hilo, Hawaii, remains vigilant while on watch aboard USS Firebolt (PC 10) during a patrol off of the coast of Iraq. Burkley is the Officer-in-Charge of U.S. Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment (LEDET) 403 from Miami, Fla. On April 24, two Navy Sailors from Firebolt and a Coast Guardsman, Damage Controlman 3rd Class Nathan Bruckenthal, 24, were killed when a vessel they were attempting to prevent entering the security zone around IraqÕs Khawr Al Amaya oil terminal, exploded and overturned the Rigid Hull Inflatable boat they were riding on. Four other service members, including Coast Guard BoatswainÕs Mate 3rd Class Joe Ruggiero, 23, from Revere, Mass., were injured in the attack. DC3 Bruckenthal was the first Coast Guardsman to die in combat since the Vietnam War. Both Bruckenthal and Ruggiero served in LEDET 403. CAMP LEJEUNE, North Carolina (March 5, 2003)--Chief Petty Officer Andrew Hearing, port security specialist, Port Security Division, Special Missions Training Center, acts as a host nation police officer and yells in a foreign language at Petty Officer 3rd Class Billie Jo Wallaker, boatswain's mate, Integrated Support Command St. Louis, for speaking to him. Wallaker and the rest of the students attending the Maritime Security Class had to deal with similar situations throughout the course to give the instructors an idea of what the student's strengths and weaknesses were.
