as much as only a few extreamist chop heads - however over all i think there is an undertow of intolerance and volience that seems to involve a larger majority of the people. while islam maybe a religon of peace, there are many aspects of it that encorage volience and are preached. No matter what you preach, its the teacher that presents in a manner that can harm you or help you.
Islam maybe (i dont think so) religon of peace, but when blood thirsty mullahs use it to advance their ideals, it maybe not true islam but it is still volience in the name of islam

Seriously though, since I'm not about waste a single moment of my lifetime reading any suras, I cannot quote where the whole 60-70-72-75-(fill in the number) virgin thing came from. It does come out of terrorists mouth all the time.

I hope that this article (no flack about the Guardian, ok) may sent you in the right track. Frankly I enjoyed it, and must admit that the whole "permanent erection" thing made me bust out laughing. Hope you at least enjoy the reading:

There is no '72 virgins' in any Sura. However - I'm interested in this statement.

Read the following which explains where this 72 virgins thingy is derived from.


Nothing in the Qu'ran specifically states that the faithful are allotted 72 virgins apiece. For this elaboration we turn to the hadith, traditional sayings traced with varying degrees of credibility to Muhammad. Hadith number 2,562 in the collection known as the Sunan al-Tirmidhi says, "The least [reward] for the people of Heaven is 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome of pearls, aquamarine and ruby."



Read The Guardian. Noticed an error:


In sura 55 verses 72-74, Dawood translates the Arabic word " hur " as "virgins",

"Hur" does not mean Virgin per se. Dawood and all other translators only translate it to virgin to simplify matters. "Hur" is something unique, beyond the beauty of any human. It is reported from other hadith that Hur is 70,000 times more beautiful then the most beautiful girl on the planet, and that just the showing of her teeth alone would make any man on the planet "explode" :)

This ****** thing has been so incredibly exagerated by the media it is unbelievable. That article made it seem that the only reason Muslims want to go heaven for is ***. There are more things in Junnah (heaven) then ***. Besides, those who's sole purpose to enter Junnah for *** will be...well, I'm not going to pass judgement because I'm not God but let's just say God would not be pleased with such an unsightly intention.

Sometimes when i watch news i think it might be a good idea. I have nothing aginst any religion as long as their members don't try to force me to obey its rules.

Islam isn't about subjugation. Where does is say in the Qu'ran that we as Muslims are supposed to subjugate?
