Just noticed that today's Conquest covered SWAT training and tactics.

Peter Woodward and his team learn what it takes to be in a police SWAT team at the Direct Action Resource Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. They're put through the paces by FBI instructors John Hickman and Tim Williams and drilled in using all the special weapons and tactics employed by America's best hostage rescuers. Peter's challenge--lead his team down a rope from a helicopter, maneuver into an enemy-held building, breach the doors, clear the rooms, subdue the bad guys, and rescue the hostage!

It's on at 12:30am tonight EST and again on saturday at 1:30pm EST on the history channel.

Hey, with simunitions around, does Delta still use live ammo in their exercises?

Whats so funny about simunitions? Why would DELTA not use live ammo? US Military uses a combination of different training methods such as live ammunition for target shooting and live fire drills etc. Simunitions for CQB force on force training, and MILES where theres large scale wargames where statistics must be recorded such as % casualties and all that technical stuff-- also equipement such as tanks/mortars can work together too

What I found was funny was how no one "died" the guy got shot in the arm but didn't "die"? Did they not practice that? Only in the After Action Review(AAR) did he say you got shot in the arm

.....oh dear Jesus......I found it funny that a TV show would use SimuNitions is all.And I'm sure they won't stop an entire exercise, point at one guy and say YOUR DEAD then restart the whole thing.

i saw it yesterday, it was really cool how civilians were given class 3 weapons for a tv show...i didn't think the simunition was funny...well except when they "test shot" that one guy :)
