Seeing as Canada wasn't officially involved in that conflict it will be tough to find any good pics of clearly identifyable Canadians Mem.

I know many Canadians volunteered to go fight there under the US flag, but I'm not sure what the conditions of their involvment were, like having to get US citizenship or whatever. I wanna find that out now though. Apparently there was a teacher at our 'old' High School in BC that fought there but he retired the year before even I got there. I also had a teacher in Calgary at Beaverbrook who fought in 'Nam but he wouldn't talk about it and he was American by birth anyway.

Good find' btw atleast.

thanks, yeh the Canadians that faught were living in the states and got drafted, some reports say that 40 000 Canadians were in 'Nam, and 110 were killed and only 107 of the bodies were found

if they were already living in the states, I doubt you'll find a lot of patriotic canucks in pictures
:|

the ones who went to the states specifically to volunteer might be a little more flamboyant like the fellas in your pics.

My old shop teacher was in Nam, the story he got his "balls" shot off and that was enough for him to be able to head home after that.

A couple times we caught him up on the woodwork shop with a long wooden pole and he was moving around like it was a gun...quite wierd really...but he was one slick outdoor education teacher i can tell ya that for sure ;)

Wish it was just as easy as that to join the US Army these days..
Just move down and enlist.

The Canadians also made up the UN observation/peacekeeping force that was deployed following the withdrawl of US forces in 1973. I'm pretty sure they were out by 1974, with a report to the UN that said that South Vietnam was more or less a lost cause.

Ducimas if you didnt know that..thats sad.

There were thousands of Canadians that enlisted into the United States Military during Vietnam.

If you ever watched Canadians in Vietnam they talked to many of them. Corp men, Army men etc.

There was this one vet talking about how this hippie prick spit in his face, and the vet was saying that he doesnt know why he didnt kill the hippie.

I remember CityTV here in Toronto ran a documentary about Canadians in Vietnam in the early-mid 90s. Anybody remeber seeing it?
