most assault rifles are able to fire even after they are dipped in the water.

Also, i am pretty sure they apply some stuff on the ammo especially to ensure proper detonation.

my weapon is afraid of some water, it's always like squirmin, and yelping when i try to put it in water.

All military standar ammo are water-proofed around the primer and around the projectile.

If you've taken an M16 under water, pull the charging handle back to let some air in the barrell from the chamber - otherwise you might still have a barrell full of water when you try and shoot. That would not be good.
