And that picture is dramatic and military how?
Nasa draws pilots from the AF usually (there is your military)
Dramatic because the img was taken ABOVE a spacecraft orbiting, I find it quite dramatic to the fact of how far our space program has come
Anything else?

The picture by itself is pretty dramatic.
As for how is it military: don't pay attention to the cargo. p-)

Not to get all nerdy, but that's a Pavehawk, not a Blackhawk.

searched the thread thoroughly and could'nt find the story behind the photo. can anybody re-post it, please?
I remember the pic from 2003 or 2004. Her husband was being transported back to his hometown for burial and this was an overnight stop. I beleive that the corps provided proper "escorts" until one of their own reaches his final resting place. The poor wife refused to leave her husbands coffin.
I'm not sure if the marines standing watch on a fallen comerade is standard protocol or not. Maybe some of the marines here can clarify this?
The picture had won several awards internationally I believe.

hehe, well thanks Durandal for pointing that out to me. I don't really know the difference(maybe you could PM the differences), but the Blackhawk is one of my favorite helicopters so I kinda just labeled it that way.

Palestinians run Friday from an Israeli airstrike, targeting a Hamas base in Gaza's Nusseirat refugee camp. Israel says it has been striking Hamas in retaliation for rocket attacks on its own country. At least eight rockets struck Israel on Friday, officials said. (AFP)

The fact Israel used a laser guided munition instead of a dumb bomb against a Hamas HQ situated non-innocently in the middle of a densed civilian population sums up very well the situation. Hamas tactics is to shield themself behind civilians to either blame Israel later if there are any collateral dommage or to deter any airstrike.
By the way, no civilian killed, 3 lightly injured and a Hamas training center destroyed -->

How can you talk about propaganda in this image? Do you think they used that thing for cooking food?
Perhaps itīs staged, but itīs a dramatic photo anyway, and I would not call it propaganda... (at least not 60 years after the war)

I agree. The fact Israel used a laser guided munition against a Hamas HQ situated non-innocently in the middle of a densed civilian population for the unique purpose of either causing heavy civilian casualty or to deter any airstrike by using human shield, sums up very well the situation.

Actually a laser guided bomb is ten times better then a dummy bomb. better chance of hitting the target versus the crowd.
and just as a fyi, direct your comments to hamas when they lob bombs into Israel

It's exactly what I meant, you just misunderstood me.
What bothers me is showing these pics without saying what happens. Anyone could use those pics for anti-israeli propaganda just by ommiting or distorting the original quote whereas the true is a Hamas HQ get destroyed without any collateral dommage...

I agree with you, their seems to be alot of anti-isreali feelings because they "purposely target" civilians (which is 100% untrue). Its just the fact that the terrorists live in heavily populated areas, so when the isrealis try to fight them it is very difficult.

They may have staged that one photograph for effect, but the holocaust itself is the most heavily documented occurrence in history. So what is your real point behind showing up this one photo?

It can be argued that terrorism is perpetuated by the pulling up of a little too much grass. If people inadverdently OR advertently killed a bunch of innocents in your country, and the people in your country were heavily outmatched in logistical and technological means of coercion, then your people would probably resort to methods that the perpetrators would refer to as "terrorism".
