You need to elaborate a bit more, are you a German Citizen with dual nationality or vice versa?
What country do you reside in?
Which offers the better career choice?

USA for sure

I'd be inclined to go along with that choice.

However if I were living in Germany then I'd join them

If you want to see action, kill someone, or get your own ass shot off while using the best equipment in the world -> Then join the US Forces

If you want to drink lots of beer, party a lot, use outdated equipment while never actually having to shoot at someone (or better yet ..being not allowed to shoot at someone) -> Then join the German Forces

This post is freakin retarded....

If i was German obviously i would join the German Military, and if I was American i'd join the American Military.

But anyways its all about the Vatican Army ;)

The Vatcian doesn't have one - they hire the Swiss Guards (who are supposedly actually pretty tough mercenary types, except they have to wear the poncy traditional outfits)

I say U.S. Army all the way...

but it is your decision...

Whatever you do,

1. Make the best of every situation
2. Keep a positive attitude
3. Enjoy the ride, you can't be in the military forever

And the bottom line is...

What do you want to do? [most important!!!]
What are you qualified to do?
What can you learn to do?
What does the military need you to do?

I too hold passports of both nations and lived in Germany for some 20 years.

Personally, I'd go with the US military. More schooling, more travel (if that's your thing) and imo, better all around experience.

My two cents.

Im part German and could apply for a German citizenship but if you were to ask me I'd say go with the US Military if you are looking into a career. The US Military has a lot more to offer, but its all in what you want from your service. If you want to just enlist for a few years and maybe hit up a peace keeping mission in your own backyard or in the middle east I would stick to the German Military. If you want to get the best a military career has to offer, do peace keeping missions in any theater of the world, have the chance to make a largest difference, intend to stay in the military for a long period of time, join the US Military. Hell you can still serve deutschland while in the US military.

The choice really comes down to what you want from the military. For me it would be the US Military, but thats not because Im a US Citizen.
