For current pix, you could try the British military GW2 site on

http://www.operations.mod.uk/telic/index.htm

Or the Ministry of Defence (Army) site on

http://www.army.mod.uk

The second link may also give you direct links to the Parachute Regiment.

Anybody has noticed the Polish wings on the chest of one Brit Para ?

Reminds me of some long nights in "The Rat Pit" in Aldershot during "Airborne Forces Day" a good 12-15 years ago...still have the t-shirt "Rat arssed in the rat pit" on one side and "paras do it at the drop of a "hat" " on the other....

Yea the british army want to spend there funds on upgrading all there bikes, in the war against racing... (<-- sarcasm) man there just bikes.... to ride round on, patrol, get the locals support, nothing special...

that fact i done that :cantbeli: was that you judged a whole nation's military funds by there bikes... you should work for your nations intelligence agency with the skills you got...

...he's probably right though - I wouldnt put it past our penny pinching tight ars*s in the MOD to give us what others have thrown out. The bikes are probably older than that. I think theres a photos of the DDAY landing with squaddies carrying bikes of an LCT. Whats the betting they are the same bikes ?

CO Para Regt " I need transport for my troops so that they deploy quickly to nip any trouble in the bud. It needs to be able to go any place and be stealthy ".

Using his initiative, Major Andy Teitge of 17 Port and Maritime Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps, checks his rolling stock prior to the move north from Greece to FYROM, on a bicycle he salvaged from a port skip.

So it looks like the British Army's bikes now consist of 100year old swiss bikes, pink girls mountain bikes, and bikes thieved out of skips. LOL Now theres a suprise. Not! :)

?!?! Air Assualt too aggressive now is it??

I know the reason why they ride bikes, its that old hearts and minds policy you appear much less agressive and are much easier to talk to on a bike instead of on the top of a challenger.
