Agreed, some are pretty big changes but they just look more realistic without them, and 90% of the girls here are still hot regardless.

Interesting work. Although, some of the pics seem to be underexposed or have altered color saturation to make the retouching effect seem more impressive. Looks like he bracketted the shots, used the worst one as the before and used the best one as his source for the retouching.

(Another example is the one with a metal board behind the women. Any photographer would know that a flash would create a harsh reflection.)

Still, the work is impressive. Skin tones can be especially difficult to work with.

It's absolutely common in publishing. I have to do it from time to time. And it's not that hard. Easy for non print, a bit harder for print! But it's just a few techniques in Photoshop. Everybody can learn that. Nontheless these guys are good! Some are adding makeup which is not that easy! You almost have to be a stylist to do that.

I went to a seminar in San Fran once when I worked for DoD. They had just released Photoshop7 and one of the guys there was a fashion photographer that did amazing things with the "healing brush" tool. I think Alicia Keys is hot also Clete. It's funny how he gives them MORE curves. Vida Guerra certainly benefitted from the "baby got back" brush. :)

They are too over-airbrushed. The guy is good, no doubt, but the true pros can mask all but the most horrendous flaws and still keep the picture natural. Of course tweaking the lighting helps a lot. I mean A LOT.

I love Scarlett Johansson though, all she needs is a coat of powder and some lighting tweaks and BAM! hottest woman on the planet:
