After my last beautiful topic (Merkava or Abrams) woot created a very informational discussion, I felt this one would be appropriate.

Again, I am no pro when it comes to tanks, but I do feel that after the most likely match up between T-72 which I think has been proven to be an easy defeat for an Abrams crew, the next most likely encounter for the Abrams (possibly formidable?) would be the T-90

cut offered a great comparison in the last thread... maybe he can again

Specs? comparison? role?

As far as i know , it has no T designation , sence it was made as a private adventure of Omsk tank factory , for export to South Corea . It has an object name , Object 640 .
The tank that is supposed to become New Russian MBT , is myth T-95 , and for a time , it is becoming Urban legend.

You must be kidding Javehn... there is LOTS of good discussion and information offered in that thread...

Is it just that this is such a topic, to easily be turned into a flame war..

If done like the last one, it would be awesome.. I realized something from the last thread about Merkava and Abrams.... woot

Crew training can make up for deficiancies, tanks are made for different roles, different purpose when can appear to just be a MBT. Different attributes, such as the Merkava rear hatch..., speed differences.

Show me the difference between two tanks that have a higher probability of eno****ering eachother in war than other tank comparisons.

Much to be learned....

Here we go again. My money is on the crew that has better luck than the other crew. :)

Argyll, a question about the MILAN. How, in your opinion, does it compare against more modern ATGM? Is it still capable to take out the most modern MBT's?

The Black Eagle was originally based on the T-80 and is made by the same design bureau that makes the T-80 but is greatly modified. The T-95 is a different vehicle with an externally mounted gun and the three crew seated in the hull for better protection.

Regarding Milan... DRODZ 2 is standard fit on the Black Eagle and options for all Russian tanks and APCs, as is ARENA.

Back Eagle was based on system from T80 , just like systems from T-72 or T-90 . In the initial plan , BE had a modernised hall of T-80 , but later it was extremely changed . Track system was taken from T-80 , with s slight change . What is great future in Be , is GtD - 1400 HP mottor , and with a weight of no more then 50 Ton , it makes the tank as a racing car .

T-95 is just an obscure project of Nizhniy Tagil factory , and supposed to enter Russian army in mid 90's , but because of serious lack of money , it's still just on paper meanwhile .

Seeing as it's still the prefered ATGM of the British Army I'd say it is more than capable of matching "Modern ATGM"

I'm pretty sure it can take out whatever's out there ;) It's down to the Operators knowledge and skill, but I'd still rate it as a formidable weapon!

the improved k155 warhead can defeat reactive armour so there's probably no mbt that could be operational after a hit
and if there was the tracks won't and an m kill takes you out of the game.
javalin has more range and is fire and forget

WRONG!
While Chopper might dominate a tank, it cant project as much mihg ton the groud (figuratively speaking)
It needs to come back to base to refuel and has much lighter armor. You cant siege the city with choppers.
