And oh my god is that ever a great movie. It left a big impact on me. The part where you think the little girl gets shot, and then she says that one line "Its a really good cloak" just made you really think how precious and innocent life is.
The thing i liked the most about the movie was that they didn't focus on anyone as being inherently bad. It left room for you to see humans as imperfect beings and everybody makes mistakes.

that had nothing to do with fallacy.

It's a good movie, it's vastly overrated but it's still good.

OK, just saw it. Gotta agree with Gaz. It was a very good movie, but I think a bit overrated. The first half seemed to reinforce pre-existing stereotypes but the last half was pretty powerful.

I recommend it.

I dont know man, sometimes I think that the stereotypes about people are pretty spot on. For instance its very hard as a cop to keep that enthusiasm for the job the longer you work it. It has a way of turning even the most understanding person into something they never wanted or thought they would be. I see it everyday Im on, these guys that might aswell have been dragged from behind a truck they are so beat up and miserable. I just dont want to become like them. Start using words I dont want to use, start using force when you need not.

Its a pretty honest movie with some overdone scenes.

I never said that stereotypes are wrong... in fact, I think there's purpose and reason behind all of them. Otherwise, why would we stereotype?

Hmmm... I bought that movie on DVD since everybody raved about it and sold it to a friend a day later at a loss of $5...

Empty Theatrics and invented Drama - the American Cinematography has developed a perfect recipe for making Oscar winning films. Last year, it was "Million Dollar Baby" - this year it's the "Crash". Boring plot, lack of story is made watchable by everybody yelling and getting stressed over stupid idiotic stuff they have put themselves in - I swear, there is more drama over balancing a checkbook now a days than the actual life and death events. And I'm a little bit discerned, since I have yet encountered a single problem in my life that's apparently "plaguing the society".

Apparently, common sense is right out the window now a days. Dealing with the choices we make - what is that? All we want to be are martyrs. Subtlety in American Movies? You must be crazy!
