The Czech government 14 January agreed to send some 130 soldiers to Afghanistan to take part in "Operation Enduring Freedom", the international effort to combat terrorism. Maybe im wrong, but if they will be under ISAF command thwy will not fight against terrorists.ISAF force are only in Kabul i guess. So, it will be hard to find Talib in Kabul.Under US command in some province like Khost or something they could kickk some Talib ass,but in Kabul???I hope they will really fight, not only patrolling strrets in Kabul.I will waiting for informations from A-stan about ours Czech friends.Regards.

Two separate missions:

120 special operations soldiers will join US and coalition forces in Operation Enduring Freedom. Other countries with special operations forces in the US-led task force include France and Lithuania.

30 soldiers will go to ISAF 4. They will include demining specialists, and topographical and meteorological support personnel.

From the Czech armed forces website:

Vlada Ceske republiky schvalila na svem zasedani 14. ledna 2004 navrh ministra obrany Miroslava Kostelky na vyslani sil a prostredku Armady Ceske republiky do Afghanistanu v ramci operaci Trvala svoboda a ISAF 4.

Vlada vyslovila souhlas s tim, ze do operace Trvala svoboda bude vyslano do 120 osob z utvaru specialnich sil v Prostejove a do operace ISAF 4 do 30 osob (prislusnici odminovaci jednotky, topografove, meteorologove).

Jednotka v operaci ISAF 4 bude pusobit v okoli letiste hlavniho mesta Kabulu. O dislokaci jednotky specialnich sil zatim nebylo definitivne rozhodnuto.

Hello Mack Pl and Bart!

Unfortunately there are not any other M4s in CZ Military then these ones in SOG. 601. SSS will keep SA 58 "until the Armaggedon battle" because of strong Army logistic line that recommends to spend every ammo (dozens tons from communist´s era) then to sell it or to give away for example like a gift for Afghan goverment. By the way, 601. SSS is definately a part of Enduring Freedom, not ISAF (I react to the questions from the beggining of this topic). Have a nice day.THX.Regards.

I dont know exactly if army have 300 m4, it isnt verify information :D .
601.sss have few m4 for learning how to use it (and many other kinds of guns) But "official armaments(munitions?)" are vz.58, mp5 ...

yes we have many tons of useless material from comunism ages

NVG: they use AN/PVS-21 and czech nvg Klara, but AN/PVS-21 is better for driving and shooting

WHAT!? CZ could not get ANYONE to buy the Lada?! (not even an African country!?) Oh well, those setbacks happen. Thanks CAG 147! (You're good with your english too!)

*To be technical, the M-4 is a carbine, the M-16 a rifle. Yea, the ANZAC SAS, Polish GROM and the Greeks are using the M-4 carbine. I guess it has been a hit with the SOF units.

Nice to see the Vz-58 still in use, quite a unique rifle. (In one of the 601st photos, the soldier has camo paint on his Vz 58. Good work!)

whats the real difference between the last two?

Blůza vz. 95

Blůza vz. 95 letní

Blůza vz. 95 letní s béžovým potiskem

real difference is:

blůza 95 letní - pattern designed for woods
Blůza vz. 95 letní s béžovým potiskem - designed for desert

difference between blůza vz 95 and blůza vz. 95 letní is in used material.
blůza vz. 95 there is 51% polyester, 49% cotton
blůza vz. 95 letní is 100% cotton

It is not necessary to buy MNS components form www.armyshop.cz
you can serf on czech internet and there you can find cheap tactical westsand modules of MNS system. I have MNS for 200 dollars.... It is used, but you cant recognize it....it is like new......and we use it for rope down and extrication ..so we rely on it very much

few words about SOG
SOG is new antiterrorist unit of military police of czech army. They are primarily used to rescue hostages kidnapped in foreign country, because czech police can not do this according to czech and international law. Members of SOG are recruited from police SWAT units from all CZech rep. and from special units of Czech army. They are very well armed and equiped. Forexample Bushmasters an HK, Vz. 58 and many more and more and more. .. ...
Police special antiterorrist unit URNA - Útvar rychlého nasazení ( unit of rapid deployment ) is better trained and much more expirienced. So they work as instructors and they supplement in SOG sometimes.

That is all for now. Iam sorry for my english, but iam in hurry....

P.S. rifle vz. 58 (model 58 if you want ) IS NOT AK47 CLONE

rzuk, nice photos of the 40mm grenade launchers.
I would say the best model is the Romanian AG-40. It is mounted quite well along the rifle, as compared to the South African or Polish models that hang down to low. (quite cumbersome)
So next to Czech forces the Georgian Republic has some AG-40 mounted to their USSR AKM rifles!

and this stuff armyshop.cz is selling isn't even the real deal!! it's a civilian version of the MNS-2000 system. I know a guy from the military who compared the system from armyshop to the real issue and there are some differences.

Well, you could always enlist, and I'm sure they would make sure you all the "official" "real deal" gear you could want (and yes was was a joke).
