Does anyone have any pictures of Israeli Air Force pilots or navs they could post? Images like that are very hard to find...I don't mind if the faces are blurred-out but I'm curious about the differences/similarities between IDF/AF and USAF aircrew equipment.
Thanks for any replies.

I used to work with a bunch of guys who were current reserve/former active service IDF. I remember a couple of them saying that IAF aircrew, specifically pilots, weren't allowed to be identified by name or photographed in the media.
This was about ten years ago and I don't know how accurate this information was or still is...this may account for why you are unable to find any....

Yeah I figured that was the reason why. Oh well.

Thanks for any replies. Ok first of all Israel doesn’t have any navy pilots, I mean last I checked, we don’t have too many navy carrier battle ships in our inventory ;)
(now if Navs is not a typo and rather it stands for navigator, then ignore my above statement)
Listen with regards to pilots and pics, they are as hard to find as active duty Mossad agent photos ;) (though Mossad pics are a bit harder but you get my point)
Israeli pilots are one of the Israeli militaries most valuable commodities. Yes you want pics of the F-15I, F-16I f-etc…etc … fine, for while they are indeed valuable (though there too there are some things on them that you won’t find any pics of ;) ) they aren’t as valuable as the IAF pilots themselves.
Israel as you know unfortunately has a lot of enemies and as such is very cautious about a lot of things, heck even regular infantry (and of course all elite units) arent really supposed to say much and while pics are allowed (for regular infantry) it is not encouraged (as such I usually only post pics that were already made public by others).
Now there are a few pilot pics (of course with faces blued or their helmet on) out there and if you do a google search you will find a few, though they are more older and the ones in recent times are indeed hard to come by.
(There is an Israeli site that has a few pics but its best that I not post them here)
I used to work with a bunch of guys who were current reserve/former active service IDF. Can you explain where and when you did this work….is this military work or something more mundane ;)

The WHERE was in the US, the WHEN was 1993-1998 and I'd rather not disclose anything else in an open forum(nothing sinister, just better to be safe than sorry, PM for details).
Also.....if I remember correctly...I was told that not only were pilot's not allowed to be identified....but IAF aircraft photos also used to have to be edited to remove individual aircraft and squadron insignia.

Yes though obviously that has been relaxed somewhat (hell just look at all those F-15I, F-16I for proof of that), though what’s still in effect is a editing of sensitive avionics and electronics and pics of those parts (for all the public info on the Israeli jets, there is a lot in them that is classified and is not known) also squadrons I think are still edited out (though its harder to do with mass media and all).
(hell the censorship for sensitive material is a lot different then it used to be…I mean now even if they wanted to, they cant control a lot that gets out due to the modern high tech world we live in etc….)
P.S. PM sent on the other issue.
Shalom :D
