Young women in World War II guerrilla uniforms prepare before the competition for the title of beauty queen in the "Most Beautiful Partizan" pageant held in Pozarevac, 60 kilometers east of Belgrade, Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005. The pageant is in memory of World War II women fighters from the ranks of Tito's Partizans who fought Nazi troops across ex-Yugoslavia. During late Josip Broz Tito's communist rule, Nov. 29 was celebrated as a national holiday across the former Yugoslavia -- "Republic Day" -- and the beauty pageant is part of events reflecting nostalgia for the bygone days. Their uniforms are the last things you should be looking at. Great pics He219, as always. :)

Some nice looking chicks among those shots but it seems a little tacky considering what those women went through during WW2.

Im sure those who had earned the right wouldn't be complaining if they had young girls running around in their uniform

And are there many fish in the Ocean?

And it's actually Serbia, not RF. Note Marshall Tito portraits on the wall. Not every duck wearing red star is a Russian duck. ;-)

Honestly, i was pleasenty suprised at this competition back in december, apparently they had gotten a few contestants from Pula and croatia to compete as well, it was nice :)

I was really not expecting something along these lines from there.

Now what do you know? And also, the man said it as joke "TAKE THEM OFF", i would surely rather look at these girls **** than on some communist uniform.

Have a nice day.

I actually took the time and checked local papers archives on line... It was covered by one of the lowest crap newspaper in form of small column. No wonder I never heard of it.

Some look pretty good, the rest look like ugly whores.

Don't really see how a beauty contest is supposed to help remember an honor the woman who fought though.
