D Co. 1/507th here (back in '86)...
Enjoy the "suspended agony"...
A couple things from the depths of my memory...
1. If you can make it through the first 48 hours you'll be fine.
2. Remember that PT, particularly the runs, are longer on Fridays. I don't know why but they are.
Things may have changed but that was my recolection. Come back in three weeks and let me know if it's still the same.

Yeah Charlie Company! Enjoy having the chow hall right at your doorstep. When I was there I found that Airborne School wasn't really hard, just painful. If you are going to RIP though, make sure you take advantage of your nights and weekends off to workout with your fellow RIPers. Graduation Day, the RIs showed up to take the poor bastards, I was released early so I could make my flight home, one guy was pushing from when I left to get a sandwich at Subway till when I got back, 45min-1hr.
To pass the course, you can fall out of 1-2 jumps(aslong as they aren't manditory like the 5 miler), but if you fall out, your gonna be smoked harsh.
Good luck on the course.

Jump school now has you jumping the tower on day 1? What happened to ground week, tower week, jump week?
I heard BAC/BAT is now 2 weeks, so they gotta cram all that stuff in a shorter amount of time.
hey jake, good job. deuterium in jump school at the end of the first week they have you exit the towers. i was in delta company. hang in there jake

I think we started on the 34 foot towers around day 3-4, and continued through day 3 of Tower week I think, not day one of ground week. We spent most of Ground week on our backs, or doing PLF's. Guess they're changing it up.

checking in again, well i completed the first run and i could have gone for more if i had too, the only thing that really hurts are the runs back and fourth to the training sight and singing airborne airborne all the way so you cant even catch ur breath. my shins and knees are feeling it, i completed my 6 jumps from the 30 foot tower today, blackhat says i look awesome up there. we started a little bit of PLF's today and tommorow in the moring we got grass drills and some more ass beating so im gonna catch some rest and go hydrate, the 4 milers friday! wish me luck

They're definately changing it up some, cause we didn't do jack until we'd learned how to PLF. We spent the better part of a day just laying on the ground with our chins in our chests with K-pots on. Talk about a pain in the a$$. Also, we did PT every morning, with at least a 3 miler everymorning. The 5 mile run was on the first day of Tower week. Keep your feet and knees together.

Ground week... and a lot that went on back when I went thru it... We ran everyday back then.. and there was no falling back or out... also, seams to be missing PLFs, and the standard ground week actions in the aircraft... maybe it's me..

Yeah, it does kind of seem like they're making Tower week 2 weeks long.

I just graduated 3 weeks ago from "Delta Rock" D co. and we wen't thru the normal channel. 3 weeks of Ground...tower.... jump week. I guess people are getting confused with ground and tower week because we did a little jumping from the 34 foot tower on ground week. Mostly hollywood style. The 250 foot tower was open one minute and closed another due to the winter/spring high winds. So company's might not get to use the 250 during tower week. Anyways i'm at 82nd division now and there in need of so many people in such a short time there bringing in "Legs" to fill the ranks. There talking about making a little mini jump school at fort bragg to get alot more people jump qualed. I know they have a mini school for Air assault instead of sending people all the way to Campbell to get quallified. Not to toot my own horn but jump school was a breeze and i was supposedely in the hardest company. There is only three things you have to worry about for jump school. Being mentally prepared (don't be afraid to do whatever the Sgt. Airbornes tell you to do, put all your trust in them, obviousely they didn't get in there position by being ate-up ****bags). Be physically prepared ( work out way before you show up to jump school. pushups, flutter kicks, and most importantly run, run, run). And the hardest one.. be ready to worry about yourself and only yourself, besides obviousely buddy checking each others equipment before the jump. The Sgt. Airbornes even tell you this during inprocessing. If someone falls out of the runs keep going don't worry about them. This is my 2 cents.

Congrates mofo79... I have a buddy who just got there, and sent me his address today... he's with the 4/508th PIR... he's a little new to it all, and is somewhat not sure about what's going on with Division.. he says the 4th Bde is an Arty Bde for the monet but thens are changing so fast.. because they are still building the Bde, they are going to school , as a Plt...
Said for the Moment, because of their size, his 1SG is an E-4
