I saw pics of the linebacker a while ago, and was wondering if they actually started upgrading vehicle to this status? I am guessing that the Bradleys in Iraq will not recieve the upgrade; it aids them in no way

Now i get it, i thought in BF2 they just called the Bradley a linebacker due to copyright stuff, but now i see its a whole differnet thing.

The article says they converted 88 Linebackers back to Bradley standards.

Not too many low-level, short range air targets to shoot at in Iraq.

Dude, it's not an 'upgrade'. It's just a different vehicle with a different function. The normal Bradley has two TOW anti-tank missiles. You'll need those when fighting tanks, since the stinger won't do much against heavy armor.

The Linebacker is meant as an armored multi-purpose SHORAD system. It can provide the infantry with a multipurpose support vehicle that can also provide them with airdefense.

But in no way is the Linebacker an 'upgrade' compared to the Bradley or is it supposed to replace it. It's a new system supposed to work side-by-side with Bradley's.

I meant as an upgrade for some Bradleys, not the entire vehicle park.

come here to fort Bliss and you will learn everything about the ADA (air defense artillery), this is the ADA home of the military. the primary system is the patriot missle system right now and various other mlrs systems. you ever drive around fort Bliss or are at el paso airport just look outside and you can see a bunch of different ADA systems just sitting out in the open.

my opinion though is i hate ADA personelle, bunch of poges (reference to those who pick up a check for doing nothing), i was talking to a couple today and they nearly sh1t themselves when i mentioned the field. i have been there the last two months and i am there until we deploy.

Is this set up similar to something I saw on a video mounted on a LAV-AD?
It had modular boxes that fitted onto the turret in the same way the tow or stinger pods do but it also had pods for 2.75 rockets, hellfires, javerlins and even bloody M72a6s. It didnt take f all for the techs to change the pods and they seemed highly effective.
