No, I didn't have any sound either... I think these videos are off of a series about War... anyway, I was a little surpriced when I saw the footage of the pilots firing up wagons... As if I had completely forgotten that the German Army was still using horse drawn wagons in WW2..

I'd say that is a safe bet. ;)

They more than used them, they depended on them. It could also be civillians of course.

Excellent post, thanks. I've seen most of this footage in various documentarys on Discovery, though they cut out the more gruesome bits (Japanese soldier being burned alive), so it's also something new to me.

Shocking footage....the one where the US bomber gets a friendly load of bombs on it's wing....and the flamethrower. Thank God not used as a weapon today. More to do with cooking than war, me thinks.

That's actually a AAA hit on the B-24.

That's actually a AAA hit on the B-24.

I always knew a stray bomb hits the wing (it's been discussed on another forum)...you can see a bomber higher up is dropping bombs quite close to it. Also, the wing collapses straight up and to be honest, I can't see any AAA or flak being fired (would have to be a lucky shot to be that high up).

To be sure I would need to download the vid and freeze it at the frame where the wing collapses. My second best guess is structural failure...seems a bit dubious AAA would have that much of a catostrophic effect that high up.

Sorry, your analysis is incorrect. AAA stands for Anti-Aircraft Artillery, and it's effects can be catastrophic. Those bombs you see are further away than you realize.

actully the horse drawn wagons are thier own..
they would use them to practice convoy strafing or just strafing moving targets in general.
i feal bad for the horses..

and i would put my money on Cabbage analysis.

there is vietnam stuff in there too (the infamous clip of the guy getting shot in the head). and i think there are some pictures of a bomber getting hit by another bombers bombs on this forum, been posted several times.

Not sure if its the same, didn't bother looking at it all since it was just a 17min long vid with clips cut down to 3-5sec long to show the moment of death of people. Not really my thing.

*edit* found the one of the pictures.

couldn't find the after picture(s) where you see the bombs breaking it apart.

Seems Google has removed the video. I have searched with no luck. Found this great video to make up for it. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4368250464023128830&q=wwii+duration%3Amedium

Aha! I was thinking of another incident then. Thanks for clearing that up....though judging by your name, this is your specialist subject. No point arguing with you then. ;-)
