One of the first American soldiers captured in Iraq with that Jessica chick, the one with the receding hairline who spoke on TV like he was pissed off, his mother is Filipino.

It's admirable that the US military spends so much to give it's soldiers an honorable burial, even going to the lengths of sending the body home..etc... But then again. I can't help but remember the two million Filipinos who died in the American hands in the 1900's to 20's

YEs! V100's, we can't afford anything else. Some kind of agreement does not allow us to buy alternate hardware except for American. So we cant' afford any. Result, we get scraps and donated hardware even from Thailand.

Maybe nitpicking here but the armored vehicles in the photos above are the British designed Simba (but locally assembled in Subic) and the V150 (not V100).

Both were acquired new from the UK and the US. The English Simba was bought (150 units) in a purely commercial government to government transaction while the V150s (over 100) were acquired new from straight from the manufacturer as compensation from the US for the use of Subic and Clark before the US left.

Not exactly hand me downs.
