Hi all,
thought this might be of interest. It's from a recent excercise by Nor-TF, the current Norwegian infantry contingent in Kosovo. It's from a joint Norwegian-US excercise involving blackhawk airlifting and a house raid.

Any word on what if anything will replace the AG3?

They're doing tests and field trials ATM. There were quite a few candidates until quite recently, Steyr AUG and some Singaporean design being among the rejected. As of now the C8 and a short version of the G36 are set to be issued among prioritized units to determine pros and cons.
Special Forces for the most use the C8 in their work and the Marines have had G36's issued for about a year or two now. Also the "recent" FIST/H unit have just started to get new rifles issued, G36 there too.
But for the rest of the forces, the set date of 2006-7 seems a wee bit optimistic IMO.
