The guy who fired has made a fatal mistake and surely it's his fault. Before firing his grenade launcher he should ensure that no one is standing directly behind the blast area. Are those guys conscrips or something... ?

I'd say like Cut, Iran-Iraq, those are likely Iraqis.

If this was taken during the final years, then lack of training is probably to blame. Sh*tty decision-making that led to major losses on both sides caused replacements to be thrown into battle without much basic instruction to make up for the losses. Iran even sent boys running across minefields to clear them before infantry assaults (the called them the bassij, not sure what it means, probably something religious).

I've heard this story too. They showed the kids pictures from hawaii etc, telling this is paradise, then made them walk through the mine field wearing the green bandana around their heads.
Not saying its true, just what i've heard. Could be one for the great Mythbusters.

Reminds me of a vidio from Just Cause when a trooper was trying to shoot a LAW, and a journalist was behind him... you could see from the footage, the trooper waving for the guy to get out of the way...

I couldn't really see any difference from what you see on the streets of Palestine with the Muja fighting the IDF. The guys in the vid looked like individuals doing random stuff...

Haven't heard that one. But I remember waking up one Sunday morning after the IRA fired mortars at Downing Street from the back of a van (happened about an hour earlier). Was 1987 I believe...remember that one?

I've heard of a couple of IRA fellows having a cabby with an RPG7 from the back of a van. Gunner takes aim out the back, fires, and promptly blows the drivers head over the windscreen with the backblast.

I might have fired anyways;-) One of my first NCO's told me about a gunfight in Panama City, where a SAW gunner accidently shot a cameraman, cause he thought he was a Panamanian with a RPG.
