Weird, any one know the reason behind this move?
http://www.spacewar.com/ is a site that list official news from the wires all military related, as of today google do not keep it in their search engine.
"As of February 23, 2006 this site has been banned by Google Inc"
About ads maybe ? but the sister sites such as http://www.terradaily.com/ (for wire news about the earth) is still listed...

Search google groups for spacewar.com
Wouldn't surprise me; being listed in Google is like being a member of this board, its not a right, its up to the person(s) running the show. I've had a few of our customers that called me griping because their website wasn't listed in Google, one guy had a very high rank, and was then taken completely out of Google after he called them up, threatening them. He acted like he had some constitutional right to be in there...

They might have cheated on the rankings and got removed for that reason.

lol yep it's all business in the end and the fact that spacewar.com doesn't say why they got pulled only indicates it's a fuggup on their own part.

Since Google is in cooperation with the Chinese government to restrict the internet freedom even further in China, could they have ban this site as well?

This site features reports and information regarding growing China's militarism ambition though.

They already did it to 0grish. It all ties into Bush's admin.

I can see blaming some stuff on his administration, but not that. If Bush was behind some grand scheme to censor people by leaving them out of Google results, you think you would still be able to get those results of password-protected areas in **** sites with Google? That's why a bunch of **** site operators are sueing Google, their crawler has managed to give people access to pages that normally require people to pay in order to get a username/password.

After China, it seems Google has been hit by the censor bug. Though Google is a load of crap anyway....don't know why everyone raves about it. It's a search engine...and a pretty bad one at that. Big deal.

Well, they're not trying to keep anyone OUT of a site, this administration is trying to get access to Google's databases because they (big brother) wanna know WHERE you are going and since Google is the biggest search engine, that's a good place to start. The latest updates are that Google is still resisting and will be taking it to the courts to keep the a-holes from obtaining search records.
