As i am interested in armour, and as steel has been used as armour .Does anyone know what the largest dimensioned piece of solid steel ,,,, First of all is ??? and what it was for ???? ,,,, and who made it??? .... What it weighed >> ETC.

Where I used to work at Indian Head MD they tested 16 inch guns by firing them at steel plates that were up to a couple of feet thick. The old pictures they have documenting the effects I've seen were cool.
