I've a question for those who have read or have the SEAL sniper manual.
What is your review about this book and is it worth purchasing?
Thanks,

It blows.... Just get the Marine pub, or any of the newer texts. PLaster is a dork, but his book is supposed to be updated with new combat tactics.
They used to send SEALS to Marine Sniper school but they washed out too much. My buddy went to First Mar div school, and 4 out of 4 seals failed.ONE was dropped for cheating.. NONE of them made it to stalking.

I agree...
from an episode of CSI:Miami, they said something like "US Marines are ONE of the best snipers in the world."....
In the World Sniper Compeitition held by Operational Tactics (http://www.operationaltactics.org/), US Marines excelled in some areas, whilst other US police/military departments and sniper teams from other countries excelled in other areas. If they were the best in the world, then they would have been top in all the different categories.

PS: I'm not saying US Marine Snipers aren't good at all, so please do not misinterpret what i am saying. I just disagree with the point that 'US Marine Snipers are the best in the world.'

I agree with Justin. US Marine snipers are skilled marksmen, but I wouldn't call them the best in the world. They have different roles to those of other snipers, such as those in law enforcement. The equipment and conditions also play a part. I doubt very much that US Marine snipers would be able to do the same job as Russian snipers, who are out in the cold hunting rebels in Chechnya. The same would apply if Russian snipers were in Iraq.

Who the hell quotes CSI miami for their technical knowledge in a post.
You people need to get a grip..... Russian Snipers use a crap weapon system with limited training. They employ a weapon that shoots a 2 moa group for god sakes. The optics are crap, and the ammo is junk.
Listen to me kids....buy the Seal book if u want. BUT its a reprint of the Marine Manual. SEALS suck at sniping. In Mogadishu they took 100 shots at the port, and hit dick(they blamed high winds). They got pulled out and snipers from 1st Force went in there, and 1 MARINE got 22 kills in an afternoon. You want the skinny on sniping ask a US Marine, A Brit, or a Canadian.
Ask yourself this...if u have to stay current in water ops, sub ops, air ops, black ops,and greens and fulfill deployment requirements how good are u at any of those. Do u have time to shoot better than a MArine, whos sole job is to kill with a bolt action rifle? ahhhhh no. A Seal told me that.
HAve attached scan of data book 1000y line 10 for 10. Seals wouldnt know about that since they never make it to qual day. They have their own school now that they made easier so they can pass.

Justin...... btw..... Operational Tactics Sniper training blows. There is a reason that nobodies compete in his competiton. Stuart Meyers is a jackass of Massive proportions, and his school was gay. The experts on police sniping are LAPD swat. They set up an urban hide in 15 minutes that killed Stuarts. The guy on the line next to me had 3 kills, AS A CIVILIAN>>>> They shoot from a helicopter on tuesday...I asked "monthly".... They laughed at me and said "weekly".....

Ok, so what if the competition was ****ty? If it was ****ty, then maybe, the Marines could have gotten first place in all the operation sceanrios...?I'm not saying the Marines are not good in any way. They do have one of the best sniper school in the world, respect to that. Obviously, from the results, the Marine Snipers excel in long distance shooting, which they would probably do so in the battlefield (i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan)

Proper evidence is all in the eye of the beholder. There are actually quite a few trained snipers on this board from a few different countries. Inter service rivalries aside they provide pretty good info, all people have to do is stop siting books they've read or guys they've heard about long enough to listen....

Don't take it too seriously mog, I'm sure Justin knows better than to trust CSI Miami.

I'd have to disagree with you here. Although Russian conscripts have bad equipment, Russian snipers - like the special forces - are given much better equipment. Take the V-94 anti-materiel sniper rifle, housed for the 12.7x108mm armour-piercing round. Or the new SVDK sniper rifle which uses the new 9.3x64mm cartridge, and has a POS 13 x 60 13-power telescopic sight.
And besides, if they did in fact have crap equipment and **** training, wouldn't that mean that they are very good at adapting and learning? I recently saw a documentary about Russian snipers in Chechnya, and from the looks of things, they are doing a pretty good job (despite their poo poo equipment and ****ty training that mog has cared to share with us.) As for the MOA of Russian rifles, I wouldn't know. I'm not an expert as some people pretend to be *cough*

I was kidding about CSI Miami!!! LOL!!!  I just remembered it from the episode about that ex-Marine sniper killing these 3 people from a roof top... And the main character who knows everything, like got it in seconds. XD
jtv3062 - here's a rule: don't shoot down a suggestion without coming up with an alternative.
i'm not high speed but i do some precision shooting here in nc (300, 600 and 1,000). i personally didn't learn anything worth talking about from plasters' book, but i feel it's a good first step for someone. another alternative is to go on snipershide and read through the thread archives. once, you've done alll that, get a rig and shoot it, after that save some coin grab your rig and attend chandler sniper 1 & 2 at blackwater.
mirror - the nsw book is outdated and spends more time on how to pack your war bag and sea bag then on rangefinding, reading the wind, camo, stalking etc. at least flick through the plaster book. it would be helpful if you could be more specific regarding what you are looking for.
mogsniper94 - i agree with what you've said (especially the part about the merits of scout sniper school). having said that, nsw sniper training has come a long way (pm me if you wanna know), however not all team schools are equal to others. i was told its a budget thing and some teams have different operational priorities.

You must be referring to the documentary posted on this forum a few weeks ago? If anything, it shows a very low level of competence on their part. I am sure they are brave and all that, but they don't seem to have the basics of marksmanship down.

Since when do we zero at 800 meters....? Its a cammed BDC scope. zero it at 300 and just put the dope on from there. A scope with a bullet drop compensator if far superior for field sniping. Ever try to count 50 clicks in the dark under stress??? I dint think so ... But i listened to my buddy do it often enough. It was hard to hear over his cursing.
AS far as variables go...who needs them...??? They have a tendency to break alot more often than fixed power(common sense). IF some other military sniper is taking 200yard shots he will be dead soon.
Why in the world would i want to take close range shots??? Let the bucket head hit those with their ACOGS... When u operate in a combat envirionment you shouldnt be firing at targets under 300 yards!! If u do , just ask for the return fire to be hot heavy and within the effective range of your enemys weapons. You mite get the occasional chip shot, but you don't want to make it a habit.
AND I was hoping that CSI thing was a joke.

The seals are not the gods gift.. The kill house on Pendleton, if you miss the target you have to circle the shothole in the wall and put name and unit.. It is covered with seal names.
We MArines have one claim to fame..Shooting skills.
You got get out and see the stuff to believe it. Im sure they hit a few. They didt have a great history in sniping.. For god sakes they used a Blind box mcmillian stock and and a B&L tactical....not the best combo.

I ll do u one better .... Why attack across an open airfield to take out Noriegas plane when 2 shots from a sniper rifle would have disabled it. Lotta Seals lost their lives on that op.
Here is a pic of us firing in Somalia... Do u see any blowing sand???? The winds were really good for shooting. This pic is near the ocean about in a similar location to the port. (sexy guy on right has a very big cock by the way, and all the ladies love him)
I guess I will be the SEAL slammer, and say they had a very rocky intro into the world of sniping. I will be going for a visit and will post some pics...extreme persec, and opseced but i will convince u they had it rough in the beginning.

I thought I made it easy.. I don't care about a Seal vs Marine pissing contest. They are both on the same side and neither one I'd want to **** with. As simple as an explanation as it gets.
What I am saying is: I have never heard of an op in Somalia where Seal's missed 100 of 100 shots. I also never heard of a marine sniper, hell, any sniper for that matter, getting 22 shots in one afternoon in Somalia.
After 13 years, I wonder why it's classified to post tallies when the pentagon is literally posting up to date tallies of snipers in Iraq/Afghanistan with much higher kills...
If it's true, shame on the Seal's, hell shame on ANY American unit for missing 100 of 100 shots and damn good for any American bagging 22 guys in one afternoon!
However, this is the first time I have heard of either. I don't care about pissing contests on who is better. I am only saying this is the first time I have heard of that happening and have seen no evidence to support it but some guy on the net telling me it's true. I have not denied it, but would like to see evidence.
I have heard stories that more than 30 Americans were killed in the battle of Mogadishu... It is possible it may have happened, but same deal, first time I heard of it and would like to see the evidence.

I returned with the realization that more goes on in this world that we can ever imagine. We got flown into the MOG in a russian bird!!!!Just so nobody saw an American plane going in there.
I got drill this week, ill talk to recon rick again and pm u the details if u wish! The guy tell the story every day because he was begging to get on the gun, and the sniper wouldnt let him. I think that keeps him up at night. hahahaha Im sure they didnt miss 100 in a row, but they got pulled out and Recon Co took it over.

I won't apologize for my comments either... I stand by them. I'll apologize to a poster I've called out if and when I'm proven to be incorrect. There's a difference.
With regard to making generic statements about SEALs and poo pooing snipers, I'll do it too...
SEALS party pretty good, especially when they've been rocking the house down all afternoon getting ready for their big party that night.
SEALS don't know squat about safely arc welding when they've got HE rockets attached to their HUMMER. I have pictures for proof.
Rangers from 1/75 can't shoot for sh*t. I know a Grenada Raider who'll take me to task on that one, as he was a sniper too, but this one is more like an inner-service rivalry thing. Can't hit the side of a fookin barn, they can't. Is that degrading enough for my brothers? p-)

That right?
When was that exactly because I spent some considerable time in and around that port during the first few months of '94 and the only USMC sniper kill's I heard/saw was a teenager carrying a box of books and a Somali truck driver killed with a 50. about 100m out from the western gate in the middle of the chicanes.
If 22 Somali's had been killed in one day around Port Mogadishu during that time period then I would have heard it. Literally.

But you did throw me w/"poo pooing snipers," until I reread my own illiterate ramblings. Po-po (as in poe-poe) is a term someone called a cop I know, since then I use it when around cop friends to refer to them. Unfortunately I am not smart enough understand what an "inside joke" is.
"Poo-pooing snipers" is atleast funnier and better suits this thread.

Literally.
We probably ran into each other at some point as we were in country at the same time.
I drank with the Kiwi's in their beach front bar near the airport. That bar kicked serious ass. Almost got some from this big boobied Army chick.
We did our sniping at SP-1. We did some protection work in the port area, but no shots were fired in that area durring that time frame.

There are a few issues beyond this that need to be resolved. Wheels are already in motion.
The spec ops community is very small, about 1 or 2 degrees of seperation. If I don't know someone, I know someone that does. SEALs bas snipers huh...........WRONG ! ! !
Does anyone remember operation "Urgent Fury".
SEAL Team SIX was dispatched to the residence of govener Scoon (I think that is how you write it), to ferry him out of the island.
The Night Stalkers got under fire, and the SEAL platoon had to fast rope down.
They took position in the goveners bulding. The platoon had two snipers, one had over 20 kills through the night.
Now, that alone is an excellent proof of how effective SEAL snipers are.

Yep. Good old Taniwha Hill.
If I remember rightly it would have been around March. We started off with a beach party and a couple of RIB loads of you guys turned up from the Amphibs offshore. We then retired to the hill and proceeded to drink each other into the ground.

Damn, that was a good night.
I was there a bit earlier. We left country around March.
We were doing lifeguard duty for the offloading Marines on the beach and attempted to redevou with the ship. The ship got tasked with something else so we were left on the beach overnight. All I was wearing was a t-shirt, short, and dive booties. Not that it got that cold out there but just enough. (learnd a valuable lesson that night about being prepared for an overnight stay).
We all had not had much to drink in a long time, (4 months of continuous boxes, ground hogs day). The Kiwi beer is a bit more "potent" than U.S. beer, we all got pissed.
Kiwis are good folk, we had a great time that night.
This thread made my day. Thanks guys.

Not that you should take my word for it (although pulling Brian's name out my ass from one of your pics might lend some weight to me being a Marine) but I saw Match in somalia, he is the deal.

LOL. okay, one thing at a time.
The short guy with the tattoos is a good friend of mine. He was in the ARG "A" from ST-5 after our deployment. As far him not hitting anything, that is fooking funny. The engagmetns he made that week are well known through out the SEAL community. Unlike most other units, NSW doesn't keep "confirmed kill" head counts. It's seriously silly as I see it, who gives a rats ass? Ironically, there were no other Marines snipers at his possition durring this time, so your buddy is talking out of this ass, but we all already knew that. Sure, send me his number, I'll get him in contact with the "SEAL who couln't hit the broad side of a barn", I'm certain that conversation would be amusing.
Why would I be in Dam Neck, for that matter, why would you be?

If you are acclimated to the cold, then it just doesn't bother you as much. The fact is, we spent the majority of time on the ship. It was hot, very hot. Sleeping was near impossible. I used to hose off in the shower and jump in the rack soaking wet with the fans on just to get a little shill so I could wrap up and sleep. It wouldn't last long and I'd be sweating again.
In country, it would be hot, (Africa hot) durring the day but the night was cool ocean breezes. Not freezing, but just cold enough, especially if you don't have anything to wrap up in.

Not entirely true, Force did leave the ship they just must not have worked with you guys. I don't know to what extent they worked but we did some cool training with them at the prison south of Mog. Did they also get the call to pull some guys out of a Hummer down town that had flipped? We did a lot of SOCOM and ARG related missions. I know they FR guys were bummed that they coudn't participate in the SOCOM missions. I was under the impression the never left the ship, but I could be wrong.

I am new here, but anyone who frequents SOF boards probably knows me, or at least who I am. I see a lot of familiar profiles here, and I have known "Match", for awhile, I held his infant daughter in my arms a few years ago, we have been in each others homes, consumed a few cold ones, and swapped "war stories". I introduced Match to my wife, I wouldn't have done that if he wasn't exactly who he said he was...Do a search for Nancy Andreasen, Nancy is way too busy too waste her time meeting somone blowing smoke.
He is who, and what he says he is! I will vouch for his cred's! As stated previously you have had an influx of SOCNET BTDT's, to resolve what sounds mightily like a BS story. There a good many Marines, whom I also hold in high esteem who will be adding their .02 cents worth, then we will probably be able to put this one to bed.
I have worked with SEALs since 65-66 in VN, Na Be, Ca Mau, Sa Dec, Run Sat swamp, U Minh forrest, etc, etc. Every unit has their 10 percenters, but I never worked with any that I was aware of, all were good men.
This probably is not where my first post belongs, but I wanted to weigh in on this issue. I have a hard time with anyone who denegrates SEAL sniper training, there will be others who can address this directly.

Seals wouldnt know about that since they never make it to qual day. They have their own school now that they made easier so they can pass.
BTW, here's me one point away from honor man at the MSPF Urban sniper COI in Oki.
3rd place was another SEAL.
I guess we can blame "high winds" on the rest of Marines in the course since we suck so much.
In all fairness, the SS Marines I have worked with have always been very proffessional. We all got along great and they were excellent shots. My point here is not to bash the Marines, only to make a point about our supposed "poor sniping skills". Marine snipers have a long and proud history which they all richly deserve.
Hopefully this doesn't come off the wrong way, not my intention.

There a good many Marines, whom I also hold in high esteem who will be adding their .02 cents worth, then we will probably be able to put this one to bed.

From my experiences the only Marines what talk Serious Smack about the other services, Not the fun rivalry stuff, are recent graduates from boot camp.
From my experience, All the services are imporant. Not just because they have better chow than our Corps but support for one another when it matters.
In RVN, Army Med-evacs and fire support saved a lot of Marine lives
USAF Air support saved alot of Marines lives
USN, Hummm Obviously the best MARINES come from them, the Bush Corpsman...to Naval fire support and Medical facilities

I spent 20 years active duty, I would have served longer, but it's difficult to argue with a 100% disability retirement.
I have seen bad outfits, but as it's a fluid situation, and the leadership rotates in and out, that same bad outfit may have become golden in a few months. In VN, and elsewhere I didn't care who I was providing CAS for, we all bleed the same color.
Everyone serves a purpose, regardless of branch, or specialty...If someone weren't supplying rockets, and minigun ammo, I could not have provided CAS for crap. Same goes for pay, and decent chow, if it doesn't happen, morale goes to sh*t.

In truth, I avoid most of the threads on this site. There is simply too much to wade through. I have a hard enough time keeping the political buffoonery to a minimum on SOCNET. It's a full time fight, I don't enjoy it, and it permeates this site.
No biggie, I just type in "SEAL" or "Matchanu" on the search function and deal with whatever issues come up.
What I like about this site is the vast cross section of international members and the intel....errr, pictures and stuff from their respective military units.
I'll contribute on issues and details that I can and were it is nessesary, (like this thread). I'm sure the other SOCNET members will do the same.

Hello all, I am a noob here, but I wanted to say one thing. Mogsniper: As a former Recon Marine, I am appalled at some of the things you stated earlier in this post. Maybe you can back peddle about the spotter, but there is no way you can justify the "SEALs cant hit the broad side of a barn" crap.
I remember doing eight counts in BRC and someone asked our instructor (the great Jimmy Stare) who was the best... Force, SEALs, SF... and Jimmy said the best thing... "We all have the same bones, just different faces."
Learn from it, and drop that chip before you embarrass the Corps.

The Poser caused a great deal of harm to the Men and Women who served in the Military then. Hollywood added to discrediting the character of Vets too. Almost 15 years after the end of the War in RVN, were vets able to raise their heads again. Thanks to the Men and Women who fought the Gulf war.
The myths of being baby killers, loosers, druggies, psycho pathic killers tarnished the deeds done by great men and women. There names where finally placed on a wall in D.C. many years later. I am glad when a poser goes down, for me hell would too easy on them. I knew a lot of RVN vets who would not tell people they were in-country and avoid the issue. For a long time RVN vets could not really morn their dead, Praise their heros, or be proud of the contribution they made to our nation security. ALL BECAUSE OF POSERS and their lies.

Hey Dip sheet,
One of the SOCNET BTDT's has a few words to impart to your ass. The following is his entire post.
What with the requirement for a mod to let you into that thread, i won't bother with the hassle. If someone wants to post the following over there for me, it would be cool. I have tried to quote mogassclown's comments, so if you could ensure they kept their same integrity in the repost, that would be cool too.

Hmm. Since this is where you appear to "start" - I will as well.
First off, I attended SSIS in the summer of '86. I took #2 in the class, my sniper buddy (STA dude) took #1. I was as proud of his getting number one as if I had gotten it. The only reason I add that is to get the silly creds thing out of the way for the rest of my comments.
There were 4 SEALs in my class. All graduated. Some had to re-shoot on the range test, but they were accompanied by a *censored**censored**censored**censored*load of Marines who had also failed to qual on the qual-day. FWIW, those that passed that day had to shoot through some of the worst weather I have ever seen shooting in.
The number one stalker in our class was a SEAL. I think he was from ST4. Maybe it was ST2. In any event, we called him "Stalking Bob." As his finale, he stalked his last graded stalk in red PT shorts and a yellow T-shirt. He got a 7 that day.

I was eating in a restuarant in Kabul about 4 weeks ago with a former CAG sniper. He was telling me of a competition where they were smoking the *censored**censored**censored**censored* out of the Ruskies UNTIL they got to range estimation. The Russians were dead on. NONE of our guys were even close. To make matters worse, the Russians asked our guys if they could shoot the US guns. They were allowed to and were also dead on. For those unfamiliar with scoped shooting, just because you have a scope does not mean you are going to be a great shot. These Russian boys were/are.

You are a liar. You "may" have been a sniper in the Corps or a DM, but you are a liar as well. The worst part of it HERE, is that those you had wished to impress now know it. Just this previous comment alone is sufficient to demonstrate your BS. I find it interesting, though, that YOU didn't fire those 22 hits. And that you chalk it up to your apparent FR heros. Whooooooooo. I was in FR for 4+ years, and I want to tell you that I appreciate your being a fan, but please stop kissing our asses. You'll only get chapped lips and we'll probably develop a rash.

Well stud, why do you think that FR snipers are going to be any better than their SEAL brethren? They have to face the EXACT same problems. EVERYONE would like to focus more on their core tradecraft. Unfortunately, optempo, funding, time, range availability, and simple wanting to go get laid once in awhile prevent us from doing so. There ARE some mighty fine Jarhead snipers out there. There are also a *censored**censored**censored**censored*load of great SEAL, Ranger, SF, snipers out there. As well as some awesome "leg-infantry" Army snipers out there. As well as cops, and simple civvies too. The Corps doesn't have the copyright on being a great shot.

What a childish comment. And what an impressive manner of vetting yourself as an assclown. So you have a logbook showing the 1000 yd line. Woopdifriggingdoo. LOTS of people are firing 1000 yds on IRON SIGHTS every weekend in the summer. You don't get any larger-dick points for your pretty little book.

No, they had the fortune and funding to put their own school together to address internal operational issues and to hopefully stay aead of all of those operational-tempo problems that you referred to earlier. They also have their own jump school. Are you going to claim they did that to make it easier as well? You think maybe they did this since some of the other avail schools have drawbacks? IE, in MY SS school, the Corps was still teaching landnav. WTF?! If you have to be "taught" landnav in a SS school, then the vetting process to get to that school is screwed. I think we literally WASTED 2 weeks of my time in SS school doing silly-*censored**censored**censored**censored* that I would have preferred doing something else (like time behind my gun in stressful situations with the benefit of a knowledgeable instructor there to point out better/easier ways to get it done).[mogsniper94]IF some other military sniper is taking 200yard shots he will be dead soon.
You mite get the occasional chip shot, but you don't want to make it a habit.[/quote]Then WHY, pray tell, does the Corps spend sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much time grading its tudents to move to within 200 yards and taking shots without being detected? YES, there are MANY snipers that are taking long shots. There are also MANY guys out there who have/are/will take shorter shots due to terrain and other circumstances. YES, I prefer to take a longer shot on a dude. Why not? That way I am hopefully out of the range of his buddies' return fire. But I have to consider that some of my shots, esepcially at fast-moving targets are going to be at close distances. Including in a mil environment. You know, I am beginning to think that your "experience" is based on either a lot of reading of books, or listening to your equally immature buddies impress you with their opinions of how to be a bad-ass.

Ahh, now you are going to enter the realm of PSD as an expert. Cool. OK stud, I also saw the video. NOT a crowd, but rather at three guys, one of whom was armed and had just fired at them, and two others who were fighting with that person for control of that weapon. All from a moving vehicle about 5-7 yards from the shooter. A soldier amred with an AK who did NOT present a threat, and who was standing approx 2-4 feet from the attack, was NOT hit -- nor even fired at. Like it or not, but if I am attacked and have to deal with the threat quickly, I don't have time to ask who is the bad guy when three dudes have their hands on the weapon. Yeah, it sucks to be those guys trying to "do the right thing" and interdict the shooter -- only to get shot. All I can state here is "*censored**censored**censored**censored* happens" and only the guy behind the gun is really going to know what his sight pic looked like. It sure as hell won't be some wannabe simpleton on the internet making the correct judgement call.
OK, enough of showing where you are factually incorrect. Besides, the other guys have pretty much done that as well.
I am going to close with the following; you are an assclown. I can't determine if you are a poser or not, but I do think that you are probably a wannabe who knew someone from STA or a JUNIOR raccoon unit member -- or you were a simple "one-pump chump" who never had any serious experience except for 6 months in a sandfly-infested hole, where you DREAMED of the cool things you could do, if only you had the balls to pass an indoc or take the chance at BUDS. That and/or maybe you werew a pogue (which also seems likely).
IF you were a Marine, you have simply managed to embarrass the Corps with yet another child who has the impression that marching around in a relatively straight line without knocking over the man in front of you and being able to shine the inside of a *censored**censored**censored**censored*can lid is some sort of evidence that the Corps produces better warriors than anyone else.
In short, you are an idiot. But then I think you have heard this before, haven't you? That and "can I have another order of fries with that?"....

G.I.C. explained in depth, with all credit going to Sneaky, who pinned it down so well. I miss that guy. Enjoy.
Aaah! The anonymity of the internet. It has truly made us a society that communicates! Anyone feels free to say anything to anyone else at anytime about any subject. It is good that we feel free to communicate. However, there is a problem with this new anonymous communication - it is without accountability - which is a bad thing.
Now I don't know, but I would be willing to bet that you wouldn't say the same thing to Cherokee in say, a bar or a Navy Club, that you posted here. Why? Geographically Induced Consequences. What are GIC, you ask? Good question. The rule of GIC states that if you are geographically close enough for the object of your derision to lay his hands on you, there are consequences. GIC is not a cyber concept, it is real world. Example you say? Thought you would never ask.
Now, let's say you and your life partners are in a straight bar somewhere in Maryland. You've got your little midshipman bell bottoms on and you are getting ALL the attention. Cherokee is sitting at the bar, talking to a friend about BUD/S and all the experiences they shared. It is Cherokee's bar, he goes there everyday to talk to his friends for an hour or two. You interrupt the conversation and ask a question, a good one in your mind, about wait for it - not BUD/S but mini-BUD/S. A term with which Cherokee, by now mildly annoyed, is unfamiliar. You don't like his follow on responses, so you call him "little lady". There are immediate and significant GIC. Normally the GIC come in the form of BAM - Boot/Ass Meet.
Can you imagine yourself doing that? Probably not. Because of GIC, you would have, albeit subconsciously, conducted a mental cost-benefit analysis at the speed of light and come to the obvious conclusion that this man, sitting at the bar talking to his friend, is not one to be trifled with. The cost would be too horrible to contemplate. The benefit of your life partners thinking you are funny or cool is so miniscule as to not even register. Every cell in your being is screaming DO NOT phuck WITH THIS MAN!
GIC is a survival mechanism, much on the order of the Fight/Fight syndrome that men such as Cherokee have*.
In summary, you can get away with statements on the internet with only verbal consequences to suffer. It is a much different matter in the real world. A true man would remember that and not abuse the anonymity and relative safety afforded him by the internet to call a man who is obviously his better a "little lady" in a vain attempt to show how witty he is.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your "Midshipman (NROTC or Academy student) Special Warfare Orientation program". While you are being oriented, it would behoove you to take a moment to remember that Cherokee, Cass, Frogstyle, Frog and the others do or did everyday, for a living, what you are being allowed to be oriented on. And, that you are likely getting Day 0, Hour 0, Minute 1 by a gentlemen's welcoming comittee of what the "little ladies" have endured for years. You phucking disrespectful Ass Clown College Boy wannabe.
