Yeah really.....like i thought the 50.Cal was a HMG not the C6...

Hey not really realted to anything but i heard that the G-Wagon isn't performing as expected in Aghanistan and the gov'n wants to get totally new vehicles?....anybody know if this is true or not?.....and if it is do you know what vehicle might be taking over for the G-Wagon?

The C6 is a medium machine gun. It is obviously a typo from an inexperienced/misinformed journalist.

Just like when the accident happened when a LAV III rolled over and they called the vehicle a "LAV III Coyote".

Whoever edited the pics, can't even spell since they used "practise", instead of practice.

With ref to the G Wagon, nothing is wrong with the G Wagon in the tasks it was meant to perform. If anyone thinks money grows on trees, it certaintly does not in Afghanistan and the government cannot simply scrap a multi million dollar contract because some soldiers don't like the G Wagon or because a few have been damaged/destroyed from heavy artillery shells used as IED's.

Look at what the American's are using there and compare that to what we are using, night and day. We in the end may not have the dominant military, but we certaintly have what it takes to get the job done in Afghanistan at the same time giving our soldiers the expected equipment to enable them to do it in a safe and secure manner albeit sometimes no matter what you are driving may be mortally damaged by someone who will do anything to kill those inside.

Tracker, maybe Recceesoldier was thinking of the Nyla contract with the RWS? They are not replacing G-wagons (IIRC) but are to be used in conjuction with them.

It's not a choice AFAIK. You get assaigned a weapon and that's pretty much it. The current infantry rifle of the CF is the C7A2.
