Challenge your own position.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank both the creators and members of this forum for allowing me the opportunity to voice, validate, analyze and challenge my own opinions and views. I always believed that “If you don’t bump heads, your not trying.”
Having to argue your political, ethical, religious, and patriotic opinion on a forum titled “Military Photos” was the last thing I expected. It is a pleasant and welcome surprise.
As I watch the latest attempt from dicamus19 to challenge his opinion of the US flop with the resounding thud that only a soggy monky turd could make… it reminds me of what I learned from his stubborn passion for this kind conflict. That lesson is that no matter how right I may feel my opinion is.. to not get comfortable or confident in it. Never be satisfied with my own knowledge. Otherwise, I will be cursed in perpetual ignorance.

With the challenging and engaging dialogue from the likes of hank and durandal in recent posts.. the great restraint shown by the mods, the cynical personalities of California Joe and farmgirl (mixed with some moments of eerie clarity), and the wealth of info from subject matter experts of all kinds.. this site has done much more than entertain me. Even the rantings of hatred of posts from people like mustamato and sixgun.. and the juvenile, self absorbing, ******ly frustrated postings of Jackmehoff have value all their own.

If you feel like I omitted your name and deserve honorable mention.. (positive or negative) bring it up here. Other wise sharing what you have learned would be great.

If you have learned nothing.. your not paying attention. Challenge your knowledge and your opinion, and don't hesitate to challenge others.

Would you say that to him personally in real life? No? Then don´t say it here either.

oops wrong forum.. hopefully this will move to off topic or general.

Yes mustamato.. I would tell it to his face. I razz him on a regular basis.. he generally has a sense of humor about it. I have half a dozen fire-eating knuckle-heads like him in my squad. I give them all a rash of sh!t and expect the same in return. When it comes to doing our jobs.. they don't mess with me. I think Jack has an idea of what kind of professional soldier and dirt eating grunt I am. Our mutual abuse to each other has it's place and and is always in good fun.

Don't you have some form of hateful rhetoric to attend to in some other thread? Your time is better spent there.

Good post.
For one to fully realize their their faults, they must be pointed out by someone else.

Constructive solution.

Bah ha!

Mustamato.. I don't think I have read much from you that I agree with but I definately enjoy your cynicism. The smart a55 in me is with you on that.
Few here can stink up a forum topic the way you can.

Keep it coming ...and keep your hands up!

I agree - this arrangement with the forum is great. Much better than the comments on the photos. Although that was entertaining.
