Challenge your own position.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank both the creators and members of this forum for allowing me the opportunity to voice, validate, analyze and challenge my own opinions and views. I always believed that “If you don’t bump heads, your not trying.”
Having to argue your political, ethical, religious, and patriotic opinion on a forum titled “Military Photos” was the last thing I expected. It is a pleasant and welcome surprise.
As I watch the latest attempt from dicamus19 to challenge his opinion of the US flop with the resounding thud that only a soggy monky turd could make… it reminds me of what I learned from his stubborn passion for this kind conflict. That lesson is that no matter how right I may feel my opinion is.. to not get comfortable or confident in it. Never be satisfied with my own knowledge. Otherwise, I will be cursed in perpetual ignorance.
With the challenging and engaging dialogue from the likes of hank and durandal in recent posts.. the great restraint shown by the mods, the cynical personalities of California Joe and farmgirl (mixed with some moments of eerie clarity), and the wealth of info from subject matter experts of all kinds.. this site has done much more than entertain me. Even the rantings of hatred of posts from people like mustamato and sixgun.. and the juvenile, self absorbing, ******ly frustrated postings of Jackmehoff have value all their own.
If you feel like I omitted your name and deserve honorable mention.. (positive or negative) bring it up here. Other wise sharing what you have learned would be great.
If you have learned nothing.. your not paying attention. Challenge your knowledge and your opinion, and don't hesitate to challenge others.
