I'm interested in your thoughts, I've seen the Temerate MarPat in use and it works very well, better even than CadPat. There doesn't seem to be much of the Arid MarPat in use in Iraq (other than helmet covers) - is there a shortage, or are the boys using up old 3 colour suits?
How well does it compare with the desert AusCam and the Brit 2 colour? Can't say I've been too impressed with the 3 colour in use - the green's too bright.
On the same line, any thoughts on Troppentarn - not seen it used much. Why aren't the line Bundeswher guys in ISAF using it?

if you're refering to USMC MarPat (or CUUs) then the reason why it didn't look like they were wearin any was because of the woodland NBC gear the Marines were wearing over their uniforms for nearly the entire war.
Also, even though they can make MarPat quicker than the old stuff, theres a hell of alot of Marines to outfit and it's not required uniform-only optional at this point.
My girlfriends cousin is in the 1/4th Marines and he got his desert MarPat literally the day before they shipped out in December.
As for other nation's stuff....if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

When I was in the NORENGUNIT we were under US command in Operation Enduring Freedom, and issued US BDU's desert camo. The ISAF forces used green camo so that the parts could see that it was two different operations. That is why ISAF uses green camo, and EF uses desert. (I know the Canadians and the Polish used green camo at the start of EF. That was because they hadnt desert BDU's.)
If that was the whole truth, I do not know, but that was what we were told when being there.
