My Pet Dugesia Died!

So I had gotten a bunch of dugesia and after keeping them for a whole month they died because I got too busy with my schedule! I feel really bad but I just couldn’t change the water all that often! Dugesias are in phylum platyhelmenthes class: turbellaria order: Tricladida (because 3 branches of their intestines!) Anways they are able to regenerate and have no circulatory system and feed on meat! I think the water got too toxic for them, no fresh oxygen I guess and I couldn’t possibly use a fish tank. But I miss the little buggers! I never got around to taking a picture either I feel horrible! :(

Uumm.. those eyes aren’t like real… the dugesia don’t have specialized sensory capabilities such as sight but they can sense light and dark. Since their bodies are bilaterally symmetrical that’s why you see two dots. However they do have a pharynx that protrudes midway of the body and looks very funny! The most amazing thing about the dugesia is that it is able to regenerate! If you split the head the dugesia will regenerate the damaged tissue and viola you have a single dugesia with two heads! And no you are not able to train the little buggers to do anything .. After all they are only around a 1cm long!
