the mg-42-3 series have to be the sweetest light machine guns ever.
I like the MG3 :-D
A bit OT but there is a Swedish Made MG42/MG3 called KSP fm/56. made by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktor but the army dident like it so we did go for FN MAG instead p-)

Say, how accurate is the MG3?

I believe the MG3 is recoil operated, which is a less accurate operating system than gas operated due to more movement in the barrel.
Having a greater spread isn't really a bad thing for an MG though, especially with a rate of fire as high as the MG3's.

Since the MG3 is pretty much a copy of the MG42, I'm gonna say it operates on Roller delayed Blowback, assisted by a recoil booster.
I'm just curious as to how accurate it is when it needs to be, and what it's beaten zone is.

"MG3 is belt-fed, air-cooled machinegun. It has short moving barrel with bolt locking into the barrel extension via two rollers (note that MG3 used roller locking, unlike the HK G3 series of the weapons, that used roller delayed blowback)." ~ Guns.ru

Thats no problem, just swing the MG forward and upwards, open the lock and the barrel falls right into the hands of the operator or into the cabin.

MG42s/3s should be placed into an engineering museum for brilliancy of design. German engineering is second to none, as always.

Thats why I said they have to bring the MG3 into a for- and upward position. It is impossible that it falls outside of this improvised wall that way.
